Bridgewater's struggles continue?!?

Quote:Game tape is great and he shows every trait you want your qb to have. Perhaps to the amateur eye, but not according to Mayock when he actually went back and looked at it. Unfortunately it would appear too many people ran with that false mantra before due diligence was done.

Quote:Or used car salesman, smooth talking the sale and hiding the defects. True, but used car salesmen usually stand out and you can pick them out of a crowd. They usually smell like stale pizza, cigars and dried up tears.. Quote:Mayock said he wasn't impressed when he went back and watched the game tape. So I don't believe the kid has been given a fair shake from the beginning. Too many people artificially inflating evaluations (and in turn expectations.)Still waiting for your first original thought on...well...anything. Simply regurgitating any negative bit you can find on the guy just makes you come off as petty. Not to mention sad that you are unable to form your own opinions. Trust me, if the Teddy supporters wanted to just copy/paste any 'expert' opinion that we found that propped Teddy up we would have just as much ammo (and a lot more actually) than you. Fortunately, all we have to do is point to 3 years of superlative game play.
Quote:Perhaps to the amateur eye, but not according to Mayock when he actually went back and looked at it. Mayock has also raved about players like Mark Sanchez, Aaron Curry, Rolando McClain, and Blaine Gabbert. He's had Mark Sanchez #1 over Matt Stafford, Blaine Gabbert #1 over Cam Newton, and Geno Smith #1 and going in the 1st round. He's not always right. My eye says Bridgewater and Bortles are clearly the top 2 quarterbacks and both worthy of top 10 picks. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
The issues of Teddys pro day (bad short accuracy, wobbly ball, not great on the run) do not show up on film at all, but whatever.

He's had Mark Sanchez #1 over Matt Stafford, Blaine Gabbert #1 over Cam Newton, and Geno Smith #1 and going in the 1st round. No such thing as someone always being right. Sometimes, players just don't pan out like they're supposed to. I think what you have to look at in this situation, is the odds of these experts being somewhat accurate. Nobody is going to be dead accurate all the time.. Hitting the barn is better than not hitting the barn at all.. And odds are, these experts know what they're talking about. So call them "talking heads", "bobble heads", whatever you like, but the odds are with them.. Quote:Still waiting for your first original thought on...well...anything. Simply regurgitating any negative bit you can find on the guy just makes you come off as petty. Not to mention sad that you are unable to form your own opinions. Wow... so touchy. Perhaps because it's your opinion, and not mine that in the end has proven to be completely baseless. I don't know how you pull yourself away from youtube long enough to even post this kind of nonsense. I wasn't overly impressed with his play and said so from the beginning. I wondered all along what people thought they were seeing, and no one could answer the question other than by giving the canned fanboy response. Now, Mayock has come out to say he's not impressed with his tape. Go figure. I worried about the glove LONG before anyone else was talking about it. I was laughed at and insulted (the other standard Ted fanboy response when all else fails, and it does.) But in the end, that too was proven to be an issue when it tanked his Pro Day. People are also talking more openly about his small hands. The bottom line is the kid just can't grip the ball without WR gloves. Go figure. I've also said I didn't like his slight build from the beginning. Even his fans admit his frame is slight but blow that off like a used car salesman. Now, Greg Cosell revealed that Ted's weight dropped to 188 during his final season at Louisville, proving that he does struggle to keep on weight. Go figure. Unlike yourself, I don't claim to be some self-proclaimed scout or expert. But I do know what I see and I don't have to exaggerate like the fanboys have in prematurely anointing him. Yes, I have shared my opinion many times only to be roasted for it. But in the end it's proven to be more accurate than the baseless opinions of those who insulted me for daring have an opinion of my own. If I didn't have an opinion of my own, then I'd be blindly joining the bandwagon like you did.

Feels a little "Tebowisk" to me. Practice scenarios don't go well, but plays better in real games. BTW, I'm not comparing the two at all. Bridgewater seems to be a QB. Tebow, well we all know where that road leads lol He is where he belongs.... lol

Quote:Perhaps to the amateur eye, but not according to Mayock when he actually went back and looked at it. Mayock seems to be going back and looking at tape alot more. He has done it the past couple of years. Went back and looked at Chandler Jones tape and moved him to first overall among DEs. He just doesn't watch as much tape anymore and it's pretty easy to see when you look back at how he used to talk about prospects. Quote:Sounds like some team is trying to get Teddy to slid down to them Cynical ! But I wouldn't be surprised if you were right. Quote:Wow... so touchy. I don't know how you pull yourself away from youtube long enough to even post this kind of nonsense. That was a whole lot of text to say you don't like that he wears gloves or his frame (and you sure as heck weren't one of the first to worry about either...I remember you, again, copy/pasting other people's opinions on the gloves compensating for hand size), yet even with both concerns he still showed for 3 years that he was still the most accurate QB in the class and he never missed any time. And then he showed at the combine that his hand size is fine, and his weight is getting back to his pre jaw surgery weight of 222, which is what he played at as a Sophomore and would be perfectly fine playing at in the NFL. In your regurgitating of Cosell's weight revelation (that was completely common knowledge...) you forgot to mention the jaw surgery part. Guess 'struggling to keep on weight' while you are doing spring practices with a wired shut jaw and liquid diet is a negative trait nowadays. Now do you have any real issues with his play, because when you're talking on the field stuff he is head and shoulders ahead of the rest of the class and last I knew that's what mattered in all but extreme cases. You still haven't said anything to explain any real reasons why he should have fallen.
And the Texans take him #1.

The evidence seems to be pointing towards him struggling keeping on weight.

I dunno about that. Teddy seemed to allude to having a cold causing him to drop weight.

No...qb's ate to be judged on how many trademarks and jerseys they sell
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.
Quote:Shouldnt we be critiquing a QB on how well he throws the football Yes, but there is more involved than just that.... Otherwise IMO, Aaron Murray would be the #1 rated QB in this class. He has a quick release, he has arm strength, he has touch, he has good trajectroy and velocity on his passes. He played in a pro style offense as well. In fact, much like Russell Wilson, the only real knock on Murray is his lack of height. Some reports will also point to injury concerns but he wasn't really prone to injury prior to this year and a torn ACL can happen to pretty much any athlete. But other than that there are no real questions about how well he throws a football. |
