tinhorns like Mack more than Clowney?

Seems the paper champs over there in Houston are starting to second guess themselves. Mack fits their defense better though.

Should we trade up with STL to grab Clowney if HOU takes Mack?

I rolled on the floor laughing, With all those missed reads in the pocket Manziel had to improvise. If he had just stuck to the play book (or just be Teddy Bridgewater) A&M would have been in the National Title hunt late

Could be a smokescreen but Mack really does fit HOU defense better then Clowney and could potentially be just as good if not better than Clowney. Wouldn't be shocked to see it happen.

No, we shouldn't trade up with anyone.

In a deep draft thats stupid. Gene Smith-like.

Trade down only.

Let me explain this to you guys.  The Texans aren't taking Mack or Clowney.  They are taking a QB.  But they want to leave people thinking they'll take Mack or Clowney in case someone in the top 6 wants to swap picks.

Also, PLEASE don't trade up for Clowney.  This team needs a QB.  not a physical freak DE who somehow managed only 3 sacks last year.

I agree that the Texans really want to trade down and stockpile, but if they keep the pick I am not sure they take a QB. They should, but doesn't mean they will.

I'll still be amazed if Clowney falls to us but if this is true, can only help.

When a team trades away the starting QB in the offseason and have the first overall pick, odds are they're drafting a QB.

Don't you think it's too soon with a first year coach? You always hear that many coaches' jobs are tied to the success or failure of a QB they draft, especially one taken in the first round, or gasp, the first pick. I just dunno if O'Brien is ready for his entire Texans hire to be scrutinized and based upon the very first QB he gets his very first year.

IMO, he's where Gus was last year. Go with the safe pick, get your feet wet, grab a QB in the later rounds that fits your mentality, and see from there. We here in Jacksonville are in a much better position IMO. Gus has the Gus train moving forwards and the Gus juice flowing, we know our goals, an where we want to be. Still a ways off, but we can see it now.

And so if you were to tell me that only one of us takes a QB in the first round, either the Texans or Jags, I'd say Jags. O'Brien's still getting his feet wet, we're already wading out towards the deep end.

I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

Mack fits the system better but they'll take Clowney and Clowney will fail miserably there.

Hahah I'm willing to take that bet.

I doubt they draft Mack.  It's likely either Clowney or a QB.  And if it's Clowney, it's because there isn't a QB that's worth it (e.g. like last year).

Even if it means not getting the "star caliber" player this team needs?

I'd give up a 4th if it meant Clowney would be a Jaguar...and for that matter, I might be inclined to deal up back into the bottom of the first (for a reasonable price) if the QBs fell.

So HOU likes Mack over Clowney and STL is "strongly considering" taking a QB...

Hmm...

Let us pray that Houston makes this catastrophic decision.

Aint gonna happen.
