Sapp Trashes Clowney

I saw this last night.

Not sure if I think being risk averse is the same as being lazy, but does Sapp have a point?

Saw Sapp's comments on NFL AM this morning.  He and Evans were questioning his motivation, and stated they would not take him with the first pick.  Interesting....

At this point, I think there are too many red flags and the Texans and Rams should pass on him.

I think Sapp wants Clowney to fall so that Tampa can get him. For an analyst, at least from what I have seen, he is a die hard fan of his old team and Tony Dungy/Lovie Smith.

Reaffirms why I don't watch the garbage NFL Network.

I guess my questions regarding his work ethic would be during his contract year.

Sometimes you see a spike in a player's performance during a contract year, in the hopes that it will maximize his value when he reaches the open market, or when it comes to re-signing.

I'm wondering if Clowney would be the opposite, namely do what he did this year, which is play to avoid injury in a contract year.

Somehow, I am not overly concerned about the time prior to contract years.

Their studio type shows (other than Path to the Draft) are terrible. At least with their draft stuff, they for the most part keep it with guys like Charles Davis and Daniel Jeremiah. I really have zero interest in listening to guys like Sapp and Heath Evans.

And I have not seen in probably over a year so they may have changed it, but that NFL AM show was laughably terrible.

So, if one of the best DT's in the history of the NFL's opinion is useless, whose opinion is useful in your little world?

Just because he's one of the best of all time doesn't mean he knows what he's talking about.

Really? Who cares? Sapp is a bozo. Deion Sanders and Michael Irvin are in the Hall of Fame and are terrible on TV too.

Yep. And 100% why they hire these jokers to go on TV.

Well if Warren Sapp said it, it must be true!!!

Pardon me for respecting the opinion of a guy who knows what it takes to be the best at his position.

Sapp is too ugly for tv. He's got dumb head movements and facial expressions.

Just because a guy was good at a certain position in a sport doesn't mean he can evaluate other people's mental status.  It also doesn't mean he knows how to be a broadcaster.  Also doesn't mean he is a good person.  Also doesn't mean he can coach, evaluate, scout, etc.
