Sapp Trashes Clowney

#41

Quote:Didnt Sapp say Michael Strahan was not a HOF player? Yea, him trying to tell me about a DE is going in one ear and out the other.

The NFL Draft really needs to start this bashing players need to stop

The extra 2 weeks are making these talking heads run out of things to say.

Even if Sapp is right and Clowney has work ethic issues, so what?  Tony Brackens had the same knock on him, and he did just fine.

I think the work ethic issue with Clowney is probably overblown for the sake of ratings.  The coaches and GM will know very quickly in sitting down and talking to him whether that needs to be flagged or not.  I think landing on a team with a coach who knows how to get his players focused and committed to the process will do wonders for any concerns there.

I don't take anything sapp says as "expertise" but Clowney definitely needs to go to a coach that can motivate him to reach his potential. Its scary to take a player at #1 that has proven he will play football not to get hurt and be proud of it. I don't need sapp to tell me what I've been hearing for months now

Quote:I think that was personal between Sapp and Strahan.

I don't know if Sapp has some sort of personal beef with Clowney or not.
No but he is just piling on, why does he have to continue to do workouts? either teams gonna draft him or not, he is a top 3 pick, pass on him if you want to

I miss the old days when players can do stuff and its not blown up, Deion Sanders once asked a team what pick they have and they said 8 or something and Deion said "Well i'm not gonna be around for you to pick me and left"

Point is super talented players dont have to do what other players do to be great, they were saying on one show, how Bruce Smith use to sleep in meetings, Lawrence Taylor use to show up late, we all know Randy Moss played when he wanted to and  those are all HOF players.

They also said the same thing about Julius Peppers and Chester McGlockton.

Defensive linemen tend to get this criticism more than any other position.

I wonder why that is.

Nevertheless, I would be deliriously happy if Clowney is a Jaguar.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

I remember watching Brackens take plays off, but it never bothered me because he'd step up on the next one and do something incredible.  It's rare to find a guy who is going full tilt all the time, especially when they are a 1 pack a day smoker like Brackens was.
