Top 10 American Musicians of All Time

Quote:All a matter of opinion and as usual, yours is wrong.

Not with what you just quoted, its not wrong.

Quote:You are hilarious. You obviously know very little about Elvis Presley, especially his musicianship. He was indeed an accomplished pianist and a singer with a wide vocal range. And yet, here you are, spewing nonsense as if you were an expert. Keep it up, the deeper the hole you dig for yourself, the more entertaining it is for the rest of us.

Elvis sucks.

The fact that he's calling him Mr. Monotone while dangling Bruce Springsteen as some sort of accomplished vocalist is pretty funny.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Not once did I tout Bruce's singing ability.

He sucks, as do most things emerging from the primordial ooze known as the garden state.

Quote:That's a pity vote because the guy decided to eat a shotgun. Again, overrated.

Agreed 100%

If Kurt doesn't off himself, Nirvana is just another alternative band in a decade full of crappy alternative bands.

No list of overrated bands should be written without Nirvana taking a spot near the top.

Yawn, I guess its the "in" thing now to say that Nirvana was overrated...

Nirvana was huge, really huge even before he off'ed himself. So to act like they are just revered because of that is a crock.

Quote:Ever notice guys switching harmonicas on stage? Or wearing one of those ammo-belt thingys with several harps tucked in? They are all pitched in specific keys. (diatonic)

The chromatic harmonica can play in all keys and is much, much more difficult to master. (There are hybrids out there as well - diatonic harmonicas with extended range and ability to play some non-diatonic notes)

John Popper no longer sports a vest of harmonicas and now only plays one with some kind of dealy-bob attached to his microphone. Do you have any idea what that is?

Great list! - Much better list than the canned ones with the mandatory Elvis.

I like the inclusions of Mayfield, Prince and the Funk Brothers especially.

I feel for your dilemma.

Then again, I like reading and not responding. It's kind of like listening to the radio where once you hear the same song that you don't like (think anything by John Cougar) you just change the channel.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Quote:Thanks NYC, I learned something new. I'll have to give it a listen later -- I'm not allowed sound in the office.

"Music"/pop culture that has been really big over the last decade+ means pretty much nothing. Mainstream pop is the worst its ever been, and its not even close. So the above means nothing.

So it only counts if it's music you like?

Is that how this works?

That's not actually a rule though. That's just how conscientious we are as mods. In fact, we are so conscientious I think we should be getting paid for this gig, don't you agree?
