If you're gonna have phantom pressure and crumbling in the pocket issues at a level just below Gabbert's, you gotta have a lot more plus traits than just lightning quick release. He's not big, he's not overly athletic, he doesn't have a strong arm, he's not that accurate, he doesn't have pro style offense experience, his footwork will need lots of work, he has the smallest hands in the class, and like I said the worst pocket presence issues in the entire class. 

 

Supposedly he is incredibly quick witted and sharp in interviews, and that could suggest he can become a good decision maker in the NFL under proper coaching that combined with his fast release could prove to be quite effective in a WCO...but it certainly doesn't translate to the field yet. He is literally just a handsome face, a fast release, and supposedly sharp minded, even though that part isn't even substantiated. I don't see anything that screams legit franchise potential in him. 

 

I would be beyond disappointed if we pass on a Lawrence/Attachou, Adams/Robinson/Latimer, or Martin/Richburg for Garoppolo.

 

 

Phantom pressrure? I've watched every game tape I could find, that's not something I'm seeing. Happy feet? Perhaps, looks a lot like Peyton in the pocket.

You don't watch tape. I don't watch tape. No one here has access to the tape. We watch cutups, and what I see is very copacetic with what Matt Waldman wrote in his extremely highly respected RSP.

I do watch game cut ups and that is TAPE, I don't need to see them walk to the line of scrimmage to know how he plays the position.

Cutups are TV angles, which is the worst angle to really get the subtle yet important nuances of what is happening. It's the best we have though so it's what we use. Tape as referenced by the real scouts/draftniks/media personalities is the north-south coaches film and the all-22. It's so much better to evaluate from, but it's also really hard to get. 

 

I always make sure to say cutups when I refer to my evaluations, because yeah it is kinda nitpicking as far as most on here are concerned, but it is an important difference.

After watching the Northern Illinois cutup, I don't know how anybody can say this is THE GUY WE NEED.


Any throws longer than 10 yards were regularly off the mark. That offense they run is very dink and dunk. He has decent escapability though.

A lot of the time when he throws it, he is moving backwards. He doesn't really step into his throws often.

That's why I posted the link, so (if you were so inclined, which you've shown you aren't) you could actually stop and take someone else's opinion into account for a change.

 

Too bad you set yours without doing any homework.  Same thing happened last year.  When you shut out, rather than soak in information from outside... and rely on only that which backs your opinion as a crutch, you simply can't come to an objective conclusion.

 

If I didn't have an opinion, I would have foolishly and prematurely jumped on the Geno wagon, just as so many did the derailed Ted train.

I don't mind it, I like becoming more educated....as long as you don't talk down to others in the process.
