Thoughts on QB Blake Bortles?

He looks slow... not very athletic, He does have size and a decent arm tho..

I would much rather taken Aaron Murray in the 3rd or 4th round. He has plenty of arm to succeed at the next level.
Take Watkins at 3, Dee Ford in the 2nd and Murray in the 3rd.

The first thing out of Mcshay's mouth when explaining why he had Bortles as his top QB: "he's got the size...."
Holy crap, what more do Drew Brees and Russell Wilson need to do to prove that you don't have to be 6'3"+ to play the position?
Remake the Roxette song to a Blake Bortles version. Call it "He's Got the Look".
Quote:He looks slow... not very athletic, He does have size and a decent arm tho.. You know who also looks slow and not very athletic to me? They also have size and decent arms, although ones arm appears to be weakening. Tom Brady and Payton Manning. Now I am not comparing BB to either great player, but if he could end up with 50-60% of the career of either of these guys I would draft him in a minute.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
Quote:You know who also looks slow and not very athletic to me? Mannong and Brady were high IQ Bortles is known for staring down his man We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:He looks slow... not very athletic, He does have size and a decent arm tho.. Sounds like G G G G abbert. Oh sure Gabbert was "timed" fast. but it never really translated to the field.
Quote:Best case - Big Ben sized Drew Brees? Worst case - Josh Freeman?Freeman has around 14,000 passing yards and an 80/67 TD to INT ratio in about 4 1/2 years as a starter. I'm pretty sure he has a winning record as starter as well. His maturity/work ethic issues are what did him in. Bortles worst case is more like a bigger, stronger Henne. Freeman without the Issuee Is actually on the higher end of my Bortles expectations.

Quote:Sounds like G G G G abbert. They are not that much alike. Watch a game sometime. Quote:They are not that much alike. He watched every one of Bortles games on tape. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
I like him just wish he didnt jump up the board at the end of the season. He's the perfect 2nd round guy that could sit behind a Veteran for a year or two
![]() Quote:Sounds like G G G G abbert. I hate this comparison. He's nothing like him except for the fact that the draft types and some media compare the two by how they "came out of no where" and jumped up the draft boards. Bortles has the stats that Gabbert never had, he plays big in big game situations and though his pocket presence isnt great, its not due to his shrinking in the pocket like Gabbert would do. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Bortles? Still? Really?

I think Bortles pocket toughness is one of his strong attributes. He will break a tackle and still make the throw.
