I agree with that statement, but this thread is about Teddy Bridgewater. I don't know which player you're referring to. 

 Haha nice, I agree. Teddy's arm is plenty strong. His problem, however, is he struggles with accuracy on the deep ball. A lot of the time, he will actually overthrow his target. When throwing over roughly 30 yards, Teddy changes his quick throwing motion to a slightly more elongated motion. I think a year on the bench would help Teddy with the Jags. He would have time to bulk up and learn to keep his quick release. Teddy has the brain and awareness to be a very good NFL QB. I think he is the best QB prospect, but I think picking him at 3 is a slight reach. Then again, if the team thinks he is a franchise QB, then it is not a reach at all. Keep in mind, Caldwell was on a staff in Atlanta that drafted a guy many said would be a game manager, which caused Ryan to slide into their lap at 4. That has worked out pretty well for the Falcons, I would say.

Mayock said himself that he studies only the NFL until the Super Bowl, then he takes a vacation, then he starts doing draft study starting in mid/late February. That's how I know how much time he spends doing something...because it came out of his own mouth. And like I also said (and have said many times about Mayock in other threads), he has been in decline for years and Teddy has nothing to do with it. I really don't get how dense and illiterate some of you all are at times...

 

You act like this is brain surgery. How much tape can you watch? You want to brag that you watched 8,000 hours of tape, therefore ...

 

These are human beings who will be put into a system interacting with others. You don't know who the best or worst of anything is. Replace some players in a certain situation and you might end up with a similar result.

 

I don't know why you, and a few others on here, get so involved with some of these guys. Are you so desirous of some sort of affirmation that you want to pick a player, hope everything somehow works out, and then come back on here to say how smart and cool you are?

To be fair, Mayock and the rest of the talking heads are probably the best in the business. Their predictions are on "odds". If they were right 100% of the time, there would never be any speculation and drafts wouldn't be as exciting as they are today.


As for his analysis of Gabbert, a lot of the gurus had Gabbert as their favorite. Sometimes things don't pan out like they should. How Gabbert ended up so horrid, is really up for debate in my opinion. What's the chances of him just being naturally awful? What's the chances of him playing as poorly because he never really got the chance to sit behind and learn from a true experienced QB? Never really know what his problem was. Just glad he's not our problem anymore and I'm glad we cut ties when we did..

Watch any of his old tapes. He had bust written all over him. Zero pocket presence and no touch. But he sure is a looker. 6'5 cannon arm blonde hair. They ignored major flaws and fell in love with measurables.



Btw I still like Teddy a lot. Maybe all this talk pushes him to 39.

To be fair, Geno was showing a lot of stuff down the stretch of last year that would suggest a top pick would have been warranted.

 

He was SO impressive they brought in a free agent to compete, impressive.  :thumbsup:
