I don't agree with this article. #1 player, no way. As much as I have been putting down Clowney, he is the #1 player in the draft. However, he's not my #1 player. I like Bridgewater. However, I don't see him as the #1 player or #1 QB.

I can't argue with what you state you meant by your post. But there were very real undertones that implied that SI's opinion piece was a farce designed to be a puff piece for reads.


I'm not saying they are right, but that's exactly what I'm talking about that fires up the two sides to incessancy.

Agreed.  I think there's pretty much a consensus on Clowney as far as him being the best player in the draft (although even that is not an absolute).  SI is trying to show their independence, and that's fine. 

 

He may very well be the top QB in the draft.  That still doesn't mean he'll be the first QB selected.

 

This draft is really difficult to figure out because it's deep for talent, but the top tier talent is not as expansive.

This is nothing compared to how it was during the fall. This board was almost unreadable then.

 

It was worst when the Jaguars were winning and so many on this board were soiling themselves about how we're going to miss out on Teddy. How McNair was paying Kubiak to lose to get Teddy.

Which is pretty much my point.  People latch on to things like this as if it's gospel, especially if they've been out there for almost a year telling the world that the team screwed up by winning games and taking themselves out of Bridgewater contention. How many times did we have to read how we would regret winning meaningless games because it would cost us the next Luck or Manning?
