Best 7th Round Pick in Jaguars History

I always thought Danny Clark was a good player.
Meier had a few good seasons. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Rob Meier by a landslide, IMO.
Played well for a number of years.

I like Jennings a lot. I remember picking him in my fantasy team his rookie year because i really thought he'd surprise some people.
Quote:Rob Meier by a landslide, IMO. Its almost as if a player like Rob Meier is more appreciated by some of the fan base than someone like Fred Taylor or Boselli. The "grunt" ham & egger is liked more than the actual superstar. Quote:Its almost as if a player like Rob Meier is more appreciated by some of the fan base than someone like Fred Taylor or Boselli. Huh?? Fred is by far the most beloved Jaguar of all time, and its not even close. Meier was a decent rotational DE/DT that was solid depth for a number of years. Perdext 7th rounder.

You disagree with TMD, and he goes straight to hyperbole. That was one of his worst strawmen, BTW.
"almost as if" No, it's nothing like that whatsoever.
"You do your own thing in your own time. You should be proud."
Quote:Nine seasons, 138 out of 144 possible games played, 21.5 sacks, 176 tackles. Not a bad career for a Seventh Round guy.

Marlon McCree and Danny Clark both had much more productive careers than Meier and were actually full time starters in the league for many years. Meier stuck around with the jags the longest because he played a position that required rotational depth.
I go with McCree because not only was he a 7th rd pick by the jags that had a successful career, but he also came back and coached.

I went Meier just because he played longer for the Jags

McCree had a weird falling out with Del Rio and he sent packing too early I thought. Definitely had a solid career but probably lives in infamy in San Diego.

It was between McCray and Meier for me. Although McCray had the best single season (10 sacks in 2006) of any seventh rounder, I went with Meier because of longevity. He had 183 tackles and 21.5 sacks as a defensive tackle over his nine year career with the Jaguars.

Meier was never more than a backup, and the DL fell off badly when he was forced to start. "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?"
Meier, and it's not even close.
What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
Meier contributed 9 seasons to the Jags, and was a very solid rotational utility DL.
