Quote:None of these QBs are top 10 talents. Some of these do have 1st round talent and ability but in all honestly any QB taken in the first round will probably be overdrafted depending on what team they are taken by.....Just watched that and I came away more impressed. They put up one of his worst games and what I saw is a guy who was pressured all day and still got up and made throws. The guy can play period. All these questions about him come out after the season and during the "shorts league practices". This happened last time. Everyone fell in love with Gabbert because he had all the tools and impressed in workouts and couldn't play a lick of football cause he just wasn't good. I watch the tape and the tape looks good. I like a guy who can be pressured all day and still find throws and move the ball throughout the game. This cut up showed his resolve to me if anything. I wasn't saying he was a horrible prospect.... I was just pointing out that his mechanics need work so that he can be very consistent with his velocity and accuracy. Almost all of his bad passes came from horrible mechanics....not pressure from the opposing defense.

If only he didn't suffer the unfortunate skin problem he'd be as valuable as the TAMU midget. :whistling: “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
Its not hard for him to gain weight. Hes over 6'2''. Thats a lot of frame to fill out. 1 year in a strength and eating program he could easily be up to 225 or more
Other criticisms are fair, worrying about his size, durability and toughness is a non issue. Quote:If only he didn't suffer the unfortunate skin problem he'd be as valuable as the TAMU midget. :whistling:Race baiter.

Quote:Totally agree. And even if he got injured, he has shown numerous times he can play through injury. My concerns have always been about lack of arm talent with him. And after continually going over the tape I have come to the realization that he doesn't lack arm strength...he lacks consistency with his mechanics. If he is able to sit at least a year I think he could develop into a very special player in the NFL.

I think Jon Gruden said if a quarterback works out and looks terrible, he doesn't drop him in rank, he removes him from his board.

Quote:I think Jon Gruden said if a quarterback works out and looks terrible, he doesn't drop him in rank, he removes him from his board. That Gruden had a helluva track record in drafting and developing QB, too....huh? Quote:Totally agree. And even if he got injured, he has shown numerous times he can play through injury. He lacks plus arm strength. Hes not gonna make on the rope throws without having his feet set. Look at the upper tier of QBs in the NFL. Not all of them have cannons for arms. Many make up for that by being very good pre snap and having great anticipation. For me, Teddy has those two things which make up for his arm. Id even argue that SOME qbs (maybe even a majority?) with a cannon arm gives them overconfidence and it leads to bad decisions. Not saying that having a huge arm is bad, but the decision making of those QBs could be classified as poor at times. Flacco, Stafford, Cutler, EJ Manuel, Fitzpatrick, all make bonehead decisions frequently because they think their arm can make up for it.

On all the tape I have seen on him I honestly can only point to about 2 - 3 plays where you actually throws with anticipation. He does usually throw with good ball placement (I think better mechanics will make him even better with ball placement/accuracy)

To me when you throw with anticipation you throw the ball before the receiver is finished with their route or hit them in stride.....Alot of the times I see him throwing the ball when these comeback are curls route are completed rather than throwing guys open.... Quote:I agree Teddy wont be tops in the league as far as Arm Strength, but I was just pointing out that when his mechanics are good his arm strength is not a problem. Watch the Florida game. Plenty of examples there. While your definition is partly correct, there is more to anticipation than just that. It could also be throwing to an open part of the field when the WR is currently covered, but knowing by the time the ball reaches there he will be open. Quote:If that is true that he played at 220 for his sophomore year, then I would agree his frame is less of a concern."Bridgewater’s weight was as high as 222 pounds while playing at Lousiville but an oral procedure during his sophomore season caused him to lose a significant amount of weight. His jaw was broken in order to correct an overbite and straighten his teeth. "I couldn’t eat for two months, and that was a period when I lost most of my weight," Bridgewater said. "So I just want to get back to that range, 220, 225 range, and just feel good.”" That jaw surgery isn't secret info either. It's just purposefully left out when guys want to knock how low his weight got last year. He'll be just fine weight wise.

It could also be throwing to an open part of the field when the WR is currently covered, but knowing by the time the ball reaches there he will be open. He definitely had some great anticipation throws in the Florida game, however even the majority of the throws in that game the guys were already done with their route and open by the time he threw the ball. I think his timing/anticipation, accuracy, and arm strength all look great when he throws with proper mechanics. When he is consistent with his mechanics he will also be consistent in these areas as well. Quote:Pirk's absolute refusal to acknowledge jaw surgery requiring a liquid diet as a very strong reason for dropping to 188 is bewildering to me. It's almost like he's only been cherry picking stats and quotes this whole offseason...oh wait. He gained almost 10 pounds for the combine then lost it a month later at his pro day. Quote:Bridgewater weighed in 10 pounds lighter than at the combine. Part of that weight loss was due to working out in Florida with Wienke and having a cold, but he hopes to play around 220 pounds in the pros. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2014/03/17/qb-bridgewater-works-out-during-louisville-pro-day/6539533/ Oh wait. He had a cold... The only person who seems to be making excuses is Bridgewater.

I know many of you wet your pants whenever you see negative news about Teddy, but try to control yourselves.Manziel does suck tho. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:So...you maintain that he is a "once in a generation" player worthy of paying a coach under the table in order to secure the first pick and draft him first overall. Kinda disturbs me that you care so much about this.
I think it's sad that Manziel is even thought of as half the QB Teddy is, Teddy is a QB, Manziel is a RB who can throw to 6'5 WRs after scrambling around for 5 minutes.
If I were Caldwell I'm taking Watkins at #3 and if Bridgewater falls past pick #16, I'm trading back into the first round and picking him.
THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.
RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. |
