Quote:And Bridgewater shouldn't be taken before the middle of the first round. Selecting WR in the top 5, especially when they aren't of the Megatron/ Green/ Fitz mold has long proven to be a bad decision in most instances. We show less advertisements to registered users. He was #2 in a draft where Oakland had the top pick and selected Russell. That's a great argument to use. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:LOL! Johnson wasn't even the first pick. Even megatron got passed by and he was considered the greatest receiving prospect of all time. Yep, Ja Monster went 1st that year.

Quote:You're right. He was #2 in a draft where Oakland had the top pick and selected Russell. That's a great argument to use. They also took Robert Gallery over Larry Fitzgerald. Quote:Selecting WR in the top 5, especially when they aren't of the Megatron/ Green/ Fitz mold has long proven to be a bad decision in most instances. Long proven in MOST instances? So, it's not ALL instances? So, there are times when it's proven to be the right decision? Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:Yep, Ja Monster went 1st that year. Nobody said Johnson went first. This is a red herring. Quote:Don't listen to Watkins booster club. You're on point. Watkins doesnt' deserve to be drafted at 3, overall. Around 10 overall, or after a trade down, yes. I dont see 3 a major reach if you think he is 10 overall. If the team really likes him and doesnt think the others are worth the 3 spot, why not take Watkins? If there isnt a trade offer worth it ![]() Quote:Well, you're actually helping our side of the argument, unintentionally....lol Not really, but you're not really smart enough to recognize that. You're too busy trying to compare one of the best receivers in the game to a guy who has been WIDELY projected to be a top 5 pick in every universe but the grease encrusted, glittery little basement you reside in. When is your buddy predator coming over so you can play a lively game of Dungeons & Dragons and collect navel lint for that sweater you're making? Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

If there isnt a trade offer worth it It's only a major reach for a player projected to go in the top five if you're TMD. Of course, it only applies to players TMD deems unworthy. Bridgewater is sliding down the boards to the point where some are projecting him as a 2nd round prospect, but that didn't stop glitter boy from reaching for him at #3 in the glitter mock draft. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
The funny thing here is the only person here who is actually trying to compare Watkins to Johnson is the guy who believes we should grab a late first round guy at #3.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:Jordan Todman runs a 4.40 and he is a backup RB. Exactly. Quote:Long proven in MOST instances? So, it's not ALL instances? So, there are times when it's proven to be the right decision? I'm going back 30-35 years of drafting. Taking WR top 5 with Watkins build/ game usually = disappointment in the NFL. Quote:Exactly. List all of them since you're going back all those years. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Bridgewater is a QB, and until recently was widely seen as a top 5 selection. (He'll still drop no lower than 8). But comparing the values of a franchise QB to just another good wr, is funny.
Quote:List all of them since you're going back all those years. Its easier to just list the FEW WR that actually panned out after being drafted in the top 5 over that time, Megatron/ Fitz/ AJ Green/ Tim Brown.... I know taking the easy route is a mantra you practice in life. You said you've gone back 30 or 35 years. Let's see ALL of the research, princess. Never argue with idiots. Quote:I know taking the easy route is a mantra you practice in life. You said you've gone back 30 or 35 years. Let's see ALL of the research, princess. Here's the list from 1980 onward of WR drafted in the top 5: 1980 - Lam Jones, bust 1984 - Kenny Jackson, bust 1984 - Irving Fryar, good player but worth 1st overall or even top 5? Debatable for top 5, flat out no for 1st overall. 1992 - Desmond Howard, bust 1995 - Michael Westbrook, bust 1996 - Keyshawn Johnson, dunno if "bust" but big time disappointment for top 5, let alone 1st overall where he went 2000 - Peter Warrick, bust 2003 - Charles Rogers, bust 2003 - Andre Johnson, STUD 2004 - Larry Fitz, STUD 2005 - Braylon Edwards, overall? bust. 1 year wonder. 2007 - Megatron, STUD 2011 - AJ Green, STUD 2012 - Blackmon, INC. note, Tim Brown was actually picked 6th overall, I initially thought top 5. Quote:Selecting WR in the top 5, especially when they aren't of the Megatron/ Green/ Fitz mold has long proven to be a bad decision in most instances. Selecting rail thin, average arm strength QBs in the top 5, especially when they arent of the Elway/Manning/Luck mold has long proven to be a bad decision. Basically there is no one worth taking in top 20 of this draft. ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters. Draft philosophy is all fluff. |
