Id rather trade down in the 2nd unless we stay in the top 7

But if I was offered a choice of just Watkins, or a player like Beckham plus a second rounder, I think you can go for the trade down and are still adding quality

Bullseye, I'm not sure what to believe. The Lions brought in Sammy Watkins, Mike Evans, Jadeveon Clowney, and Khalil Mack for pre-draft visits. Any of these players would have the potential to have a huge impact on the team that ends up with them. Yet, it gets back to the cost of trading up. The Jaguars have the luxury of being selective with trade offers. With pick # 3, the Jaguars are guaranteed to have the opportunity to get a blue chip prospect. With the large assortment of middle round picks, the Jaguars have plenty of opportunities to upgrade the roster. Unless Dave Caldwell and Gus Bradley believe the Jaguars can get a very good prospect with pick # 10, that won't be that much of a downgrade of what they can get at # 3, I don't think the Jaguars and Lions are going to agree to a trade.

Since you guys already have Megatron, I think a player like Watkins makes more sense for you than adding a guy like Evans since IMO Watkins would be a complimentary player to the WR you already have.

Though I agree with you, the Bears provide a good example of a team having two larger WR's with many similarities that are very productive and effective.

While Sammy Watkins would make more sense for the Lions than Mike Evans if everything is equal, it's very likely that the Lions would have to trade up noticeably higher for Watkins than Evans. There's probably better than a 50-50 chance Evans will be available with pick # 7. I don't think Watkins will fall that far.
