I already discussed that. Yes, I assumed the end game was Bridgewater, and miscalculated on the focus at that point. However, at the end of the day, they tanked for the first overall pick, (and subsequent 1st picks in every round). It simply gives you the most options/ opportunity. Clowney was also a big enough player in his own right to make them tank. (if not for them to pick, to use as trade bait for a windfall of picks) This wasn't Fisher/ Joeckel as the top 2 prizes like last year. Finishing at the top of this draft had much more incentive.

except the texans literally look like one of the top 5 garbage teams in the NFL. they have the look of a team with the arrow pointing down. theyre in a bit of a rebuild themselves now and you dont hear players talking about how they want to go to houston like they are saying they wanna play in jax. why would you want to do that to your team for 1 player that you dont even know if he is going to pan out? you play to win, you dont play to put yourself in a position to draft a player thats a total guess. thats not even diving into the fact that no matter how good clowney is, as a defensive end, he isnt going to be changing the game for them. how many super bowls did they win with super mario? the whole thing would be a waste and there is no way that a group of millionaires would be stupid enough to do that. they didnt get rich by accident.

You really think the Texans are that bad? I don't agree. Their roster is still good. I could see 2013 for them being just like 2011 was for the Colts, i.e. a speedbump per se. A good draft has the Texans right back in the playoffs, IMO.

their defense was overrated 2 years ago. a lot of those players hit the downside of the aging peak. cushing got busted for his roids. you combine the aging roster with the overall lack of talent and now no QB, probably starting a rookie or ryan fitzpatrick. call me crazy but that roster doesnt look too scary to me at all.

Manning was injured. The Colts were only as good as Manning while he was there. They didn't tank. They simply lost their golden goose and didn't draft well enough to maintain without him.

Well obviously anything could happen, Schefter even said that. But from what he hears, their planning on picking 1st overall. If someone comes and bombards them with a great offer obviously they'd take it. Who wouldn't?
