Marquis Lee

We need to move up somewhere and snag a decent interior OL.

No pain, no gain.

Quote:OK, its possible I was confusing him with someone else.

But the knee and size are 2 things that are concerns. (we need a big WR)

Then why say he has character issues without knowing what you're talking about?

Wait. Never mind.

Quote:I didn't say Lee looked slow. He's going to look a lot faster than Jones because of the huge height differential.

Lee could turn out to be a complete steal, but he's a big risk because of his injuries and play style.

He honestly seems like a pick that someone that's more established as a contender (lets say the 49ers) would make. He could be huge, but he could be a big risk at the same time. Someone a team like us might not want at this stage while we're still rebuilding.

I was referencing the post by our resident johnny browns fan who called him short and slow.

Where are those doubters who wanted Watkins and Bridgewater, now?  I like our new combo better!

His replacement will be drafted soon.

True, I keep holding onto his contract year like he could finally produce similar results.

I don't see him here in the next 2-3 years.

Quote:Yea I think I heard we wanted Watkins because he caught a lot of quick short passes and could break them, that applies to Lee, he fits the system, the Sanders thing is a good point

Watkins just enough height and longer arms, with hands to go with them and is much and I mean much faster who also runs great routes

I feel better with a guy like Watkins against top corners than Lee

Ohh, yeah he is somewhat shorted but I don't think he's on the slow end.

We do need a burner though.

Quote:Fwiw, going into his Senior season, an NFL scout described Lee as the most talented WR he's seen since Randy Moss.

The talent is there, lets hope he stays healthy.

Huh?? I don't see that at all.

Lee looks very good, but doesn't look like a "special" talent to me....

This is a GREAT pick..

this kid was the stud of the WR class talk last year... lock for top 10 if he came out last year... minor injuries and horrible USC qb play somehow got him to drop

apparently the jets were frantically trying to trade up ahead of us for him, and we were even debating moving up for him

this kid is going to come in right away and be an impact starter

every analyst said what a steal this was, and a stud he is... I'm pumped

I hope blackmon gets his crap together and can comeback because him and blackmon and shorts would be quite the exciting trio

his 40 time shows 4.5, but hes faster than that... he ran track at USC.. and watch his tape, he's a 4.4 speed guy

Quote:Definitely agreed for sure. You want to think well he's gotten himself in this much trouble and lost millions of dollars, what is going to finally get into his head? You know what kills me me though? The dude misses 4-8 games of the season, comes in, and instantly gets 200+ yards receiving.

I mean... if he can be banned and away from the game that long, and come in looking like he's been playing all season long, imagine what he could do if he were to never be banned and play consistently. He could be top 3-4 receiver in the league easily. But Jags luck, we get a headcase that cant put it all together (At least not with this team).
It boils down to this: Can he and will he quit drinking for ten million dollars or so per year?  I know I would. The thing about bad habits is this though: if they were easy to break, none of us would have them. It's his decision to go up or down. I hope he chooses up.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

You like a Bortles/ Lee combo better than a Bridgewater/ Watkins?

I'm guessing Dave will take one more WR late. Kevin Norwood could be a steal.

I see a Stevie Smith in Lee. Could be a better player.

is this a joke?

hes like 6'1 and is super long and lanky with great quickness and ran track at USC... he ran a 4.5 but is a true 4.4 guy on the field.. watch a single video of him

TMD, Lee is elite at going up and getting the ball. IMO, it is by far his best trait. This allows him to play 3-4 inches taller than his listed height.

I'm not saying Lee is an All-Pro, but the talent is there.

Why would they take a risk like that with their 2nd pick?  The kid has knee problems...that's why he slid into the second round. Why take the chance?  Don't like it at all. There were other great options to go with ...healthier options.

Quote:I would have rather taken Matthews or Devante Adams with that pick, but whatever. I don't like drafting medical risks.

medical risk?  he had a shoulder and a knee sprain... nothing that is chronic in any way shape or form

Exactly. I have a small drinking problem, but I'm not paid 10 million a year.

I can say it's not the easiest, but I definitely think it depends on your situation and surroundings. There's no way he can have it that bad where he HAS to drink enough to put him in this much trouble. It's very confusing to me.
