Quote:HUH?  I was liking this draft after the first three picks, but now Caldwell IS doing what Gene Smith did...

274. OG Brian Linder , projected round 7-FA  ....taken in the 3rd after trading up.

224. CB Aaron Colvin, projeced round 6-7... taken at #114 top of the 4th

I hope the 5th round is a little more in line with the projections.  Not that the "expert's" projections are always right, but the perception is just not good on these two.  Hope I am wrong.
The Cowboys just took a guy who was projected FA, not even 7-FA. Each team has a different board and usually the experts don't have a clue once it comes to the later rounds.

Naw, you've got immediate starting QBs left.

Im a little disappointed with the Colvin pick.  I realize he would have been drafted higher had he not been injured.  But he was injured.  And he wont be playing this year.  Think there is enough talent out there we could easily have drafted a guy that would have helped us this season.  And not have to hope Colvin comes back 100% for the 2015 season.

Quote:Mayock said he did about 3 times on live TV.
Really?  I have not been able to watch today, but I clearly did not see Colvin any where in the "Best Available" all the way down past #100 that they put up a couple of times last night?  I could have sworn that was Mayock's rankings....

Didn't see Colvin's name in the first 4 rounds of any mocks the last 3 months....oh well.

I would like Seastrunk or Zumwalt

The level of maturity of the Jaguars' scouting department is questionable. Gene Smith's cronies are scuttling the ship.

Colvin is 2nd round talent only 6/7 due to the injury

And the big difference is Gene guys were small school guys he was over drafting, I will take an over drafted guy from OU and Miami over an over drafted guy from Arkansas st and places like McNeese st

How many picks do the Jags have left? Love the Colvin selection. He would have been gone if not for his injury.

McCarron although theyve been saying for months how coaches dont like him personally.

My boy Savage is still out there although I dont know he fits the kind of QB we like.

It seems like we've shown interest in Shaw.  I'm betting he'll be there later.  Fales is another guy.

Caldwell got his own guys in after last years draft, didn't he?

Chad Henne is a "starting qb". If you don't think a qb can be great, don't pick them in any round.

How does one question the "maturity" of a scouting department? Were they out boozing it up with Manziel?

Where are you getting your rankings from?

Per rotoworld:

Aaron Colvin | JAC

(May 10, 2014 12:47 PM EDT)

Jaguars selected Oklahoma CB Aaron Colvin with the No. 114 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.

Colvin (5-foot-11 3/8, 186) was a two-time first-team All-Big 12 selection, racking up 15 career tackles for loss and five interceptions as a versatile piece in Bob Stoops' secondary. He saw action at both safety and corner for the Sooners. Unfortunately, Colvin tore his ACL at the Senior Bowl and underwent surgery on January 27. Colvin was generating top-50 buzz before the tough break, but is now likely to "redshirt" as a rookie. He could push for playing time in 2015.

This pick is about as good as you could get when it comes to bargain value.

What about the trade up for Linder?

That's just bonkers. Why scout? Why rank? Just take a guy that I want.
