I really thought they would take Mettenberger, or even Savage.

Also, regarding Linder, he might have been a reach, yeah, but he played under Fisch. If Gene Smith makes that pick for a guy he's never worked with directly, yeah, big reach, but if Fisch was in the room and presumably said yes to a guy he'd coached two years ago, I'm more comfortable with it.

We wont know that until camp, if the rookie out plays them then the vet will be gone, but a 5th rounder could just go on the PS if he isnt ready

I think they view the Dline as pretty solid for next season, I don't really see anyone being pushed off by a rookie. But I'm far from an expert on these late round guys.

The sentence above was irrelavant.  The write up said he could "NOW" push for playing time in 2015.  Does not matter what he was before the injury.  It matters what he is NOW....which is a possible part-time player in 2015, according to them.  Okay, my blood pressure is going up.  This is why I stayed off the board a good while before the draft.

I really don't get the Linder hate by some....he looks like a pretty good Guard to me. Very good technique/ smarts. Good size. Mean streak....So he might not be as athletic as some of the others....so what?...He's proven to be good with what he has. Plus, Fisch is familiar with him and he's obviously a fit for our scheme, too.
