Why is the pro bowl being used as some kind of validation?


Vince Young was a pro bowler.

 

 

Umm... did Vince Young ever lead the entire league in passing and have one of the most prolific statistical passing years in NFL history?  You know since "arm strength" is what people are concerned about regarding passing the ball?

I'll say the same to you.. at least we only spent one of the last picks in the 4th round on our lottery ticket and not the 3rd ovrl pick.

 

This was a historic QB draft class.. in the sense that it was deep as hell, but had zero real ringers.. just a bunch of "maybes" loaded to the teeth with question marks.  There is practically zero drop off in talent throughout rounds 1-4 (that anomaly is what makes it historic), so Houston did the correct thing by maximizing the value of their picks (they have killed it in this draft) and not over reaching out of desperation, and letting the board fall to them.

The fact that we're even discussing these two players just further proves my point.  Great QB depth, but the deep end of that pool (difference in talent) only reaches the level of a kiddie pool.  Not much difference between touching the bottom and then coming up for air.

What the heck are you even talking about?  Garoppolo was always projected to go higher than Savage so what's your point?
