Quote:Shack, I'm not bothered. I'm amused y'all care so much. This is hilarious. You said: Quote:@AlfieBCC As a (wannabe) reporter, you were factually incorrect. Simply rephrase that sentence and it works. Simple. Now while you're listening for suggestions. I would suggest being more open minded to those that disagree with you. I have never seen someone so hypersensitive about people disagreeing with an opinion. I am an occasional reader of your site and think you do a good job. But the comments section when a person does not agree with you? You get ugly brah. I know a large portion of your audience is your friends. Thank you for being concerned, but my readership is more than fine.
What should I have rephrased? He agreed to sign with the team. 30-40 minutes later he decided to back out, when I then reported. What should I have done?

I don't have a problem with Alfie posting it. I mean nobody knows who is gonna back out. Just take it all with a grain of salt til the ink is dry.
Alfie,
I remember reading last night that the Jags were only thinking about signing 11 guys. The tracker on BCC is reporting at least 20. Do they plan to cut players currently under contract, or are more of these signings expected to "flip"? Quote:Alfie, Some of them are rookie try out players, which do not count against the roster. Some are signings. If they sign more than 11, they have to cut.

It's the nature of trying to be first to break a story. You win some, you lose some. Especially in the age of instant information. In this case, the information changed.

Quote:It's the nature of trying to be first to break a story. It doesn't really have anything to do with the nature of trying to be the first to break a story. That is a major problem with journalism today, but not in this case. It's just the nature of how the UDFA process works. Are you going to slam ESPN for reporting that so and so committed to a college during the recruiting process if said athlete at some point decommits and signs somewhere else? That's essentially what UDFA is, except it's condensed into a four hour period instead of a four month period. No one was at fault (not Alfie or the other two dozen people who reported it), it's just the nature of UDFA.

It's just the nature of how the UDFA process works. You're talking out of both sides of your mouth. The nature of UDFA, is precisely the reason you should be cautious about trying to be the first to report the story. But I guess when being the first out of the gate fails, you can always use the UDFA excuse. Nothing lost.

Just looking at the list of guys we brought in, I would fully expect Coleman, Reynolds and Loston to make the team. All were projected to be th-5th round picks and all sure can play.

Man it's like everything has gone our way as much as it possibly can in the draft and FA to this point. If Christian Jones stayed here if would've been terrific.
