Well, basically it's like 32 lottery winners all in one night at once.. Highly over excessive, but, I'd prolly do the same with a Casio and a 12 pack of Rolling Rock..

The 21st pick picked up 55k in jewelry. What is the contract for that pick under the CBA? That is a substantial expense. These guys need to talk to T.O.

And that, my friends, is how you end up begging teams to sign you for the vet minimum at 40 years of age.

It seems even more pointless because everyone already knows that they have money. The salaries are public record.

Public records aren't cool.

$50,000 time pieces- those are cool.

I hear they keep time exceedingly well.

Whatever. These guys have earned the right to make a few splurges. It's not like they're pulling a Vince Young a dropping 30K a night at Cheesecake Factory.

LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.

But have they earned it? Anybody sign a contract yet? Nope. Just spending the advances their agents GAVE them. They haven't EARNED a dollar yet.

Who cares if they "earned" it, they're basically guaranteed millions being drafted in the first round.

Doesn't change the fact that this is a big reason a lot of athletes go broke.

I'm not here to split hairs, obviously they earned it with their selection and they know with the new CBA exactly what the details of their new contract will be. It's a formality.

Just a guess here, but I'd bet some of that was given to them for the sake of advertisement.

This would be like me taking my average pay bonus and stopping at Kay in the mall for my wife.  It is really hard for me to imagine the money these guys pick up just by being drafted.  For the Gladiatorial way these guys sacrifice, I don't begrudge them the money and lifestyle.  I like my simple life.

I feel for them latter in life.  I have deep respect for Freddie T more every year when you consider the fleecing he took as a young athlete.
