If your theory is true, O'Brien took a run-blocking tight end much earlier than projected just to settle a score with his former boss. That move would make him petty and insecure, in addition to inheriting Belicheat's lack of charisma. Can't wait for him to fail like everyone else from the Belicheat tree. 

That is one way to look at it. Another way would be to see that Belicheat was trying to once again bully his way into getting what he wanted, and instead got Belicheated at his own game. For that, I give O'brien props to a job well done. It's not like the TE isn't a huge asset to the Texans, only he wasn't as huge a need as other positions at the time he was picked.

How was Fiedorowicz "overdrafted".. please explain.. as most mocks had him pegged as a solid 2nd rounder.  And where is he listed as only a run blocking TE. I haven't seen that anywhere.  Just because you can do something doesn't mean you're pigeonholed into that position and that's all you can do.

 

As far as O'Brien, I'm sure you can't wait to see him fail.  I mean why would you want him to succeed? but there's a difference between him and the other branches "in the Belicheat tree". The Texans aren't his first head coaching job.. and he already was a huge success at his other stop, where he had to overcome great odds to win. He's a good coach

If you don't care about that.. then don't gripe about somebody video taping a practice.  It's still bending the rules and trying to get a competitive edge.  Also the only person who openly griped about video taping practices was the moron who had no problem doing it while he was with the Pats so he comes off looking like a giant hypocrite.

Rick Smith always said the team was locked in on who they wanted like a week before the draft, but that they would still field any enticing offers.


Bottom line: I believe the Jaguars had a good draft, but don't fool yourself into believing the Texans royally messed up their draft plans.
