The point here is that Branch's production, schemed or otherwise, is production nonetheless. Considering that almost all of his sacks came within the last handful of games, it gives up hope that the production will continue. Besides, it's Branch's speed and agility that allows him to be schemed into position anyway. You can't just disregard that. 

 

For example, that gif showing him beating the guard shows that a slower DE may not have been "schemed" into that sack. 

 

 

That's YOUR comparison. 

 

You're using 7 sacks in 29 games as another reason to show he's a bad player. 

 

RicoCabesa is showing that 7 sacks in 31 games isn't reflective of a player's skill or whether or not they'll be successful.

The sack and the forced fumble on A. Rodgers was a nice highlight play for him but he needs to do that more often to secure a slot.  I expect him as a 3rd string DE behind Big Red and Tyson Alulu (not the LEO).

If the Jags are so great at scheming and anyone could have gotten those sacks then why in the hell were we 31st in the league in sacks?  I mean apparently we have found some loophole where defensive lineman are playing against air.  I demand every on the defensive coaching staff get fired for not incorporating this scheme more often.

Jeremy Mincey had 8 sacks in a season where he actually won his one on one battles, why isn't he good in your opinion? He's clearly more productive than Branch has ever been. Because he's slightly older? Seemed to be your reasoning last year for wanting to start Gabbert over Henne because both were bad but Gabbert had potential? No he had no potential, if you have potential you show flashes, Branch hasn't shown flashes, Gabbert didn't show flashes.. both of them suck, both of them will be after thoughts in a few years.

I actually kind of liked Jeremy Mincey.  Don't recall ever saying he isn't good or should have been cut. 

 

Last year I didn't want Henne to start because he sucks.  I didn't want Gabbert to start because he sucks.  Like I have mentioned 15 trillion times, that is like eating a plate of poo or drinking a glass of pee. 

 

All I know is Branch had 6 sacks.  Second on the team.  That is a hell of a lot better than I thought he was going to play last year.  I don't care how he gets them, as long as he gets them.  Stunts or beating his man one on one.  It doesn't matter.  Just get sacks.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the short busser to respond to this one.  I've posed a similar question and it's gone unanswered despite the fact that the idiot has said more than once that any DE could have similar success in the scheme they're running.  The fact that it didn't happen is irrelevant to him because that would be a fact.  As has been established time and time again with this dimwitted soul, facts don't matter.  They just confuse him.  His opinion is all that matters.

So Branch hasn't gotten better, but ended the season with 5 sacks in 7 games... and had 2 in 22 games... yeah, I agree, no improvement.

. Considering Mincey is in his 7th season and Branch entering his 3rd (not as a starter) I don't see how you can compare the two. Given the opportunity I think their is a good chance Branch gets 10 sacks this season.

Andre Branch got 7 sacks his second year.  He has earned a chance to prove it again this year.

 

The haters should just shut up with the lame excuse of "he only got them cause the scheme,etc etc"   You don't think opposing team's knew the schemes we were running and planned for him?  He just had the speed and quickness to make the plays.  Why hate on the guy?
