Game of Thrones y'all!

Quote:I've read the entire series, but have not taken enough acid in my life to understand what that tree is all about. All I could think about is religious refrences to tree's of life and tree's of knowledge stuff like that? But I don't see how it ties into the story line. Then again, I've accepted Dragons, Zombies, Being Raised from the dead, I guess magic tree's do fit in. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Then again, I've accepted Dragons, Zombies, Being Raised from the dead, I guess magic tree's do fit in. Doesn't the "old religion" use trees as part of the dogma? I haven't read the books, but I remember Lady Stark and some others that seem to have an older faith (as opposed to the 'Seven Gods' thing that seems to be more the new kid on the block).
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

Most northerners and people descendant to the "First men" worship the Weirwoods or heart trees. They believe that the trees hold some form of special power. In the final episode of this season, Bran finally makes it to the 3 eyed raven, which is the old dude in the cave under that tree. He has the same type of power that Bran has, being able to warg into other creatures and whatnot, but the old dude under the tree has a lot more power than Bran does at this time.
Ever since Brans fall in season one, he has had dreams where a 3 eyed raven was trying to show him what he needed to do. Even us book readers don't know the extent as to what Bran is going to do in a cave so far north, but I guess we shall see.

I have the first book on my Kindle, maybe I'll have to catch up on the books while waiting for next season.
