Ranking the AFC South Receivers

I tried to be unbiased. What do you think? Agree? Disagree? I left out Blackmon based on his questionable return.

Reggie Wayne is likely done as anything resembling an elite WR and Andre Johnson might be, too.

It definitely wasn't me, I was advocating we trade Cecil to the patriots while we could since he's so injury prone. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! However, in my opinion, switch T.Y. and Shorts and it's more accurate.
Quote:Reggie Wayne is likely done as anything resembling an elite WR. I think you're going to be proven wrong this year, barring injury.
Quote:I think you're going to be proven wrong this year, barring injury. Does his ACL count as injury? How many have come back at his age and been top performers from that sort of injury?
If anyone can do it, it'll be Reggie Wayne.
I don't see him being the dominant receiver that he was in the past, but he will still be very solid probably.

I don't think Wayne is done. And I have never been terribly impressed with McCluster.
Only a chump boos the home team!

Donate Moncrief will be a name that will be on this list towards the end of the year.

Quote:I think you're going to be proven wrong this year, barring injury. I'm not surprised a homer would expect a miraculous recovery, but Wayne is going to turn 36 this year. I didn't think he was in elite territory before his ACL injury and he was mostly the benefactor of great QB play, as he's been for most of his career. Now it's going to be all about the push off and offensive pass interference for him to get any separation.

Sigh, can't have football talk on this board anymore without one attempt at an insult, even as small as it was. Oh and PS: Reggie Wayne has been great every year he's played, including when he had Orlovsky/Painter combo. He was only 40 yards away from a 1,000 that year. Go ahead keep talking like you know what you're talking about. Did you know being a "homer" is also believing that every other team/players, besides your own, isn't as good/down year/etc.? Look in the mirror.
Also to the OP - Pretty good list. Don't think I can argue with it for the most part.
Quote:Sigh, can't have football talk on this board anymore without one attempt at an insult, even as small as it was. When a guy fails to reach 1000 yards it means he's not elite. He was pretty good, but never elite, and now that he's older and injured he's not going to be even as good as he was 3 years ago. By your standard we should have Cecil Shorts equal to Reggie Wayne of 2011 and rate both of them as elite since his performances have come on the receiving end of Gabbert and Henne. Quote:Does his ACL count as injury? Obviously I meant if he receives another injury during the upcoming season. Quote:Didn't Marvin Harrison's career basically end at a similar age and injury? Harrison dealt with injuries often and every other season seemed to miss at least one game. You could also see on the field slow decline in his play. That's not the case for Reggie, on both accounts. Quote:When a guy fails to reach 1000 yards it means he's not elite. He was pretty good, but never elite, and now that he's older and injured he's not going to be even as good as he was 3 years ago. With the combo of Painter/Orlovsky Wayne was 40 yards from 1,000. Stop. Oh and 770 yards isn't on the same level at 960, BTW. And I'd take Henne over Orlovsky/Painter every single day.
Quote:Obviously I meant if he receives another injury during the upcoming season. 770 in something like 10 starts. Stop. You'd take Henne because you've not had to endure him. He'd have infuriated you on the way to 0-16 if he was your QB that season.
Quote:You'd take Henne because you've not had to endure him. He'd have infuriated you on the way to 0-16 if he was your QB that season. You honestly think Henne is worse than Painter. Wow. |
