NBA offseason thread

#1

And the first big move (if you want to call it big) of the NBA offseason happens today. Carmelo Anthony is opting out of the final year of his contract and will become a free agent.

Ready for Thursday. It's time for the Bucks to get a big time player.

Yep, I'm so glad we didn't fall any further than second overall.

Magic

#4 Pick ->  I'm a little weary of Exum @ #4.   Haven't seen anything except for the highlights but I think he still has at least 3 years of development.   I also know that I cannot watch Jameer Nelson for another 2 years so if they pick him I guess that will be fine.   Alternative (assuming Wigging and Parker are gone) -> Noah Vonleh (the next Olajawan)

#12 Pick -> Elfrid Payton to play the point if the don't go with Exum.  Payton looks like the next Kobe (quick, nice crossover dribble, and good jump shot)

.... imagine having Olajawan and Kobe on this team !!!  works with me ---  lol

opting out could also mean taking less pay to accommodate Melo coming to town.

IF the big 3 all Opt IN, then I really think the Heat are in trouble.   They desperately need a 3 point shooter and a power forward.  Oh, throw in a new coach while you're at it  !!!   Having Bosh run to the corner on each offensive possession isn't really that hard to figure out defensively.

I'd love to see Lebron go back to Cleveland.

Dario Saric signs a 3 year deal to play in Turkey. Was a potential lottery pick this year. Watch the Spurs take him, sits on his rights for a few years and then he comes over and is a stud.

I don't see any of them taking pay cuts. Opting in would mean they would have very little cap space to upgrade their glaring needs at center and point guard.

I do not see that happening.

I could see it happening. Lebron definitely cares about what his image is, and it would be the storybook ending. Plus you have Kyrie Irving and either Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker.

The question is: would Dan Gilbert take him back?

Probably. I want the heat to do that. He looks really good in the limited amount of youtube highlights I saw.

I wonder if Lebron, Wade, and Bosh take pay cuts to allow the flexibility to bring in more and better talent/depth.

Yeh, it all started going down hill when I referred to Miley as the next Faith Hill.
