It's one of the dumbest things I've ever dealt with. Through an Ag Lender you can borrow well into the hundreds of thousands but if you want to just buy a regular home for 150K or whatever, its next to impossible. "You don't have any record of paychecks!"

 

It doesn't make any sense. And how a regular bank can thrive in my area without lending to farmers I have no clue.

I've always resisted doing that because of the costs involved but earlier this year I was forced into incorporating. Which I think will end up saving me money tax-wise in the long run... but I leave that to the smart fellers. Still, the banker guy hides every time I walk in haha.
