You are honestly one of the most ignorant people I have ever met.  According to you the 60's, 70's, and 80's were amazing.   Well guess what, this lady was alive during all those centuries.

yet the crime didn't occur in those decades did it - it occured now. i.e. product of environment/ learned behavior/ declining moral fabric.

The only reason you feel the need to insult me personally is because you know I have a point and todays society is largely garbage and continuing to decline and you don't want to admit it.

Go look at a history....it proves my point, and only shows that you wont concede a discussion and that you are wrong.

serial killers, kings killing their wives, rapes, pillaging, robbery, drugs, arson, RACISM, sexism, and the list goes on and on....yep, never happened before.

No, because I have to read the same song and dance every time.  It's like a broken record.

Are you honestly this ignorant of history? Or do you play dumb (doin' a great job!) so you can play your grumpy old man role?

Lots of people repeat themselves on this board in various topics.....U just don't wanna hear what I have to say. Selective.

I think the story in the OP is sickening. Yeah, it makes me shake my head at the state of the world today. I know there was crime in past decades but overall I see a societal decline when I see more and more heinous stories like this one. People that are younger in todays world will always try to rationalize because they don't want to be associated with a rapidly declining society.

Meh, whatever. If you want to rationalize this stuff by bringing up major issues in the past, go ahead. I know the real deal. This kinda stuff is almost everyday in this society.

Pretty sure the 40's had this thing where some painter killed 6 million people or something.    He had a huge following.  I think his name started with an A or something.

People aren't getting worse.  That's not to say it excuses the behavior of this woman or any of the other psychopaths today.  But people like them have always been around.  It's not something new.

Lizzie Borden took an axe, and gave her mother forty whacks (more like 5?) when she had saw what she had done she gave her father forty one (a lot less than that as well).  Of course there wasn't enough evidence to convict her.  And men could not buy the fact that a woman could commit such a crime.

H.H. Holmes is a name you could look up and be absolutely disgusted by.  Lived in the 1800's.

Elizabeth Bathory long before them.

Society really isn't declining.  We'll always have psychopaths.  It's a human thing.  But I think society as a whole has progressed more than declined. It's sad that there'll always be psychopaths.  Hopefully it'll become easier and easier to identify people with mental health issues in the future, and prevent senseless murders like this happening.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

If you're so displeased with this society as you've so vehemently stated in this and several other threads before...run for public office, start a petition, start a group, do something.

But to act like there was this golden age where people rarely/never killed other people is naive.

thought you may find that interesting. Especially this part

Quote:

A graph of murder rates over the last 60 years looks like a bell curve. Violence began to boom in the mid-1960s, then began a steady drop in the 1990s, which has generally continued to today. This coincides with the rise and decline of the baby boomers.

There has been literally thousands of examples pre 1950's going back to the (at least 1820's ish). Don't bother anymore, it's a fruitless effort.

It's apparent history books are not a favorite of his.

Yeah, he surprisingly ignores every example thrown out there.  If there was the internet back in the 50's, the same crazy stuff would have come out.  Now its on a global scale so you hear every beat.  Ignore ignore Ignore, Spin Spin Spin, I'm right!
