I checked them out before....but never got really serious about using that as a method of dating. I do occasionally browse to see whats "out there" though. You never know when that "one" might cross your path. 

 

Like anything else, I've heard good and bad stories about people's experiences dating using this method. 

 

 

Per stories/ accounts that I've heard about... the older people, 45-50+ that are searching for similar aged mates have better results than the younger on it. Probably a maturity thing.

Best advice that I can give you.  Get off the internet, go out and actually meet people.

Meeting strangers on the internet is only slightly more risky than meeting them in person, as long as you eventually meet them before making any type of commitment.

 

Personally, I can't stand bars and don't attend church. The few trustworthy friends I have are married and mainly associate with married couples. I live in a very rural area. It's worked for me, to a degree.

 

I'm not promoting seclusion or marathon internet sessions, just common sense. My only concern for BigJag57 is that he is searching now, just while he's getting used to a very different set of circumstances.

Speaking from REAL experience. I met my current Fiancee on Match.com 2 1/2 years ago.  We had both dated others off Match and while it was fun to get out there again after 21 years of marriage, I would have never found my love without Match. We just did not run in the same circles. So yes, it does work. Some are on there just to have fun, some are more serious about finding someone special.

It is possible to look for dates on the internet and go out in public and interact with people. The difference is everyone you meet on an internet dating site is there for generally the same reason you are.
