A Political News Survey?

#1

Since political discussions are allowed now, I thought it might be appropriate to broach the subject.

I’ve been working on an independent study for my political science major at UNF.  As part of that study, I’m conducting a survey to see how people consume news online. It would be great and very helpful to get the participation of the Jaguars board. The timing seems very apropos given the recent rule change.

Of course, feedback is definitely welcome. Thanks!

Why can't it be both?

Why do I feel like I just took your test for you?

To everyone that has taken the survey so far, thank you. The response has been really good and all of the input is much appreciated.

I have to admit though, after all these years it is sort of strange seeing a political forum on the Jags message board.

I started the survey, but it won't let me answer past a specific question.  The question asks which of the following have I used for reading, discussing or sharing news.  I use none of them for that purpose.  The closest might be Reddit, but I don't "get" news from there nor do I discuss it or share any opinions regarding news on there.

While I think what you are doing is interesting, some of the questions seemed to me to be kind of "loaded".  To get actual real results, a survey needs to be as impartial as possible.  I would be interested to see what the results of your survey come out to be.

Thanks for pointing out that to me. It would explain the in progress numbers I'm seeing. Everything should be cool now. I can certainly post my paper on the results for anyone interested in seeing how things turned out. Jagibelieve, could you send me a message with examples of the point you raised? Thanks!

I’ve been resisting the urge to look at the results until I’ve met the quota or deadline, whichever comes first. But I’m excited to see the responses and to learn more about how we use online media to gather information (thoroughly nerdy stuff).

Well, sampling from a group of message board users probably skews your results. Kind of like taking surveys in a pub to determine attitudes about drinking, you might need a much larger sample size if you want population level analysis.

Why? It's not questions about the political climate of football, so I'd think you'd get a wide variety of answers from people on here.
