True, but the saliva has to mix with your bodily fluids, just getting it on your skin won't infect you. And Ebola is not a hardy virus outside the host, it's susceptible to infrared light and cool temperatures. It's a strictly tropical virus that needs an immediate host to survive. And there has never been a confirmed case of airborne transmission, so the risks aren't any greater than with HIV and those folks are everywhere now.

I don't think doctors understand everything about Ebola.  What is stopping the virus from mutating and becoming airborne?  Basically nothing.

 

There have been studies done that concluded Ebola could be transmitted through coughing or sneezing.  It hasn't gotten out of hand, so no, we shouldn't panic... however it's not something that should be taken lightly.

killed nearly a 1,000 in Africa now. the scary thing about viruses is they tend to mutate so hopefully it dosent at some point become an airborne virus. From what I hear the two Americans brought over tend to me recovering well so that's a good sign.

I agree a 100% if the need to bring them to a better facility with better doctors was approved by the US Govt then why in H_ _ _ didnt they fly them to our highly sofisticated (and expensive) Naval medical ships or Carrier?

That way if it broke out we could just sink the ship?


It doesnt matter they havent stopped all flights, ships (cargo, passengers, etc) from Africa coming into the US so if its as bad as many fear if they dont do that it'll spread regardless.
