There's absolutely no reason the scrub should still be playing in this league, and yet the 49ers still have him inked as their backup QB. I really don't think they have a shot at winning any game he starts.

BG never really showed any kind of improvement from his first start in the NFL to his snaps in Thurs' Niner's preseason game.

 

At least none that I could see. He looked just as bad last night as he did with his past team.

They have him inked in as their backup QB as of yesterday afternoon.  That could change today, although the guys behind him didn't have much better success.

Maybe Mike Mularky really is a better QB coach than we gave him credit for. Gabbert actually looked passable at times in 2012.

The 49ers asked for Gabbert and Dave said "sure!" I don't know exactly what he pulled off. I believe anyone of us could have done that.

Mike Mularkey as a position coach isn't bad. When the Peter Principle is applied and he gets promoted is when the bad starts to show up.
