Probably watching Gabbert.

I'd like Garrard to Blackmon/Shorts for the rest of the year, but wait we might win some games..

Interesting... He was a guest on Mike Dempsey's show last Monday. It was interesting to hear his opinions about our QB situation, and he indirectly confirmed that when Gabbert first got into camp in 2011, he showed small signs of being afraid of the pass rush and dlinemen

He'll never play a snap, but I'm still pulling for him.

Go David!

I'm happy for the guy. He, like most QB's not named Brunell have had it pretty rough at times with these fans.

He may not ever be Joe Montana, but what's not to like about the guy? Seriously. David was and is a very class act, and was far from the worst player to put on a Jag uniform.

Yeah, I agree. He actually have the Jags 2 of the better QB seasons this franchise has seen in 2007 and 2010? I believe.

Some didn't care for him all that much, but he wasn't terrible. We now know what terrible really is with Henne/ Gabbert.

When I first saw the thread title I thought it was something to do about another back injury for Garrard, sigh...

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

I miss Garrard, I just felt like we had a real QB back there when he played even if it wasn't always good.

He was professional and a leader.  He may not have always executed that well, but he knew how to play the position and wasn't afraid to do it.

A healthy Garrard would be a solid backup for any team in the league.  He's just not a reliable starter with his inconsistent play, poor decision making at times, and his injury issues (back/knee).  Of the field, he was a good guy.  I don't think anyone ever knocked him for that...except for the whole fedora thing.  He was involved in local charities, and always retained a positive attitude even when he was in the midst of some pretty bad play.

Would he start here today if he was on the roster?  Probably.  But, that's not as much a ringing endorsement for him as it is an indictment of just how bad the QB situation is here in Jacksonville.

If his tryout turns into a roster spot, good for him.  He'll never see the field now that the Jets are fully committed to Geno, but at least he'll get a paycheck.  Brunell made a nice career at the end of his road out of backing up QBs.  David could get a few years of the veteran minimum to carry a clipboard and play in preseason games while keeping his fingers crossed the starter doesn't get hurt.  There's nothing wrong with that.

I wish we would give Garrard a go of it here. At least when he was the starter I went into every game knowing that we at least had a chance to win the game. That's a lot more than I can say for Gabbert/Henne. I bet he would lick his chops to get a chance to throw to Blackmon/Shorts.
LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.

Garrard had a go of it here, and walked out with $30 million plus.

This team is moving forward with what we've got knowing good things are coming.  A mediocre band aid does the Jags no good long term.

Logic says having him here wouldn't do crap for us longterm but the fan in me would love to see garrard in a jags uniform one last time. I always thought the world of him. My first year really getting into the jags was way back during the playoff game season. Watching that full season, seeing the jags fight and him running for his life to win in Pittsburgh just helped capture me as a fan of the NFL that day. I think he might be my favorite player I've watched play so far.
