Barring his prison sentence not being longer than a year, I would still trade for him even if he's suspended afterwards.

He's that good.

EDIT: But I wouldn't give up any more than a 3rd rounder at the most.

Why would an NFL player need assault weapons? I don't understand people

Why does anyone, outside of military, need assault weapons?

(But that's a debate for another day)

I think this has less to do with military style rifle (assault weapon implies fully auto /gundork) and more to do with the fact that people were firing off handguns as a means to do everything but order pizza haha.

The average person's idea of an "assault weapon" is so skewed these days that you can't put any weight at all on that classification. I can name dozens of hunting rifles or shotguns which exceed the performance level of the alleged "assault weapon" which the average Joe can buy. I own several of them. I own what many of you would consider an assault weapon as well. Actually, more than one. Why would I need one? I don't. But I can. It's not illegal. It wasn't for him to own them either. He was just irresponsible with them, and illegal in the process of how they were used. That's where he crossed the line.

Gotta be responsible. If there's one thing I know about gun ownership and usage it is that. Also that "assault weapon" is a very overused phrase.

It's a nifty catch phrase, or should I say, talking point, among people these days. It also happens to be an oxymoron. An assault weapon is ANY weapon used to ASSAULT another. Legally, by definition, any weapon, from a prison shank to a nuclear device in the wrong hands, does the same thing.  It harms, maims, or kills someone in an unlawful way.

It's really that simple.
