Quote:Yeah that TD to int ratio was ridiculous. Can't imagine we would see that again. I think foles has the capability to put up something like a 30td/12int season. No Jackson but cooper took a huge step and as of right now maclin is healthy. The only reason Foles put up a 26 TD total is because he was in Kelly's offense. Put him on a normal team and he'd never crack more than 20-23 for a 16 game schedule. He's not that good. Foles in 2013 had a Garrard-like 2007 year with the lack of INT's.
Well, Foles does get the advantage of playing vs the AFCS this year (especially getting the Jags week 1 instead of later).
So, that's 4 games that he'll get 10-13 TDs out of right there,, maybe a little more. Quote:The only reason Foles put up a 26 TD total is because he was in Kelly's offense. You mean when he only started 6 games as a rookie and had a rating of 79.1 and completion percent of 60.8? Both statistics that are better than andrew luck in his rookie year.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Mark Sanchez made it to the AFCC game as a rookie too.....means nothing. Foles is nothing more than a mid tier QB. Suckers buy into his Kelly-inflated 2013 stats. Probably won't match his 27TD 2INT performance but that's not a fluke right guy for the right system he'll only get better though despite losing Desean Jackson
No way he does another 27/2 year. I know Cooper has stepped up and Chip has shown the kids will play hard for him I still dont believe Foles will ever play that good again. I dont have faith in him. A local boy(from my side of the states) is on the team and im hoping he can have a good year tho, Would love to see Maehl be a target for Foles this year. But i guess thats a side note from Foles will be amazing/horrible point of the thread.
Quote:Mark Sanchez made it to the AFCC game as a rookie too.....means nothing. Ok so he nothing more than a mid tier qb but he performed better than luck in his rookie year and greatly improved in his second year. His stats are inflated by kellys offense but he was technically better than luck before kelly got there. Using your own logic, luck is a mid tier qb.

LOL Put Luck in that Kelly offense and they might score 50 points per game and he'd rewrite all NFL passing records within 7-8 years. and have 4+ more years to pad them. OK, once again your opinion is stated as fact. That isn't how the world works. Chip Kelly is just a coach. I watched eagles games. They're not doing anything the NFL has never seen before. We will likely never see Kelly coach luck but just as everyone thought harbaugh was a QB god, look at gabbert. In the famous words of Vic, "players not plays."

Quote:This is not Nick Foles' first start. And how did he play last year? Good? So then you are using one game to justify your theory that he is garbage, all while completely discarding the dozen or so good games he had last year? Try to keep up. Quote:And how did he play last year? One PRESEASON game. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:And how did he play last year? I am claiming Foles is run of the mill/ average, not garbage. And Someone was citing Bridge's first ever start to bash him. You tried to tie in that I was doing the same thing with Foles even though it isn't the same thing since this is far from Foles "first ever start". Try to keep up. Quote:One PRESEASON game. Exactly. Thus why I compared it to TMD completely disregarding Bridgewater's poor preseason game, while simultaneously using Foles' as indictment of him being horrible.
Quote:Exactly. Thus why I compared it to TMD completely disregarding Bridgewater's poor preseason game, while simultaneously using Foles' as indictment of him being horrible. horrible? I said the 2 INT"s he threw were bad and that is an accurate representation. Other than that, I'd say you need to have the first post read to you again.
Pre-season should be used to get ready for the regular season and to evaluate players fighting for starting jobs or roster spots. Considering that there's very little game planning in the early part of the pre-season and in game 4 of the pre-season, I wouldn't put too much weight on what transpires in most of these games. Especially for veteran players that aren't at the point of their careers that they might be over the hill.
One related thought. The Bill Polian led Bills and Colts had awful records in most pre-seasons. It was all forgotten by mid September. Quote:Exactly. Thus why I compared it to TMD completely disregarding Bridgewater's poor preseason game, while simultaneously using Foles' as indictment of him being horrible. Agendas know not the difference between the pre and regular seasons. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:2 INT, bad ones too.I dont know its way too early to say that after only one preseason game. I am sure not having one of the best WRs Jackson to throw to wont help his season stats. I would however reconsider drafting him 1st overall on your fantasy team (if you have one) after that performance. The Eagles are in a really weak division even though the Cowboys looked good this week, and Coughlin always pulls out a strong D & decent running team. The Redskins back up Coughlin looked better than their starter RG3, but their running game was impressive yet their Defense (despite the talent) played bad as usual. I think the Eagles will take that division but with only 8 wins. Quote:I dont know its way too early to say that after only one preseason game. I am sure not having one of the best WRs Jackson to throw to wont help his season stats. I think you mean cousins, not coughlin. Haha But I disagree with the Jackson loss. He is a one trick pony. Maclin missed a ton of time last season. Having him back will easily fill Jacksons void. And in that division I'd expect foles to be a top 5-6 fantasy QB this year.

When you have a case to argue, you disregard evidence that does not support your agenda while inflating evidence that does. I don't have a problem with it, but it does tend to diminish one's credibility when it's done all the time. Also, watching the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again gets pretty boring. |
