This congress is least productive in American history. If they were just giving in as you suggest I doubt this would be the case. 

 

The House of Representatives has actually been quite productive.  There's a stack of bills a mile high sitting on the Senate Majority Leader's desk that he refuses to send to the floor, or even to committees to debate.  The logjam in Congress starts and ends on his desk.  I think I read somewhere earlier this week that there are more than 300 bills that are sitting waiting for him to do something, and he's chosen to ignore them. 

 

The republicans have given in on many issues in an attempt to try to get something done only to have it languish in the Senate without ever being reviewed, debated, or voted on.

  An aspect of what far too many Republicans and Republican organizations that bothers me is related to what you mentioned.  Instead of doing everything possible under the law to resist the agenda and tactics the Democrats are using,   they are either comfortable with it and/ or are afraid to truly challenge them.    Sometimes they pretend to resist but it's obviously for show.     Along with his policies,  the other reason why I'm thrilled with Ted Cruz,  is he truly stands up to the opposition.   

 

They are always a step behind when it comes to dealing with the agendas of the left.  They get so caught up in the minutia of one thing that they fail to recognize they're being played on another.  They're paralyzed to oppose, and more content to cow tow to the wishes of the other side.  You're right.  They feign resistance, and anyone who genuinely stands up for what should be the core principles of the party are tamped down at every turn.  Ted Cruz may be considered an extremist by some, but at least he has his convictions, and if you listen to his positions, and actually study them, he's more reasonable than most would believe.  He just recognizes that when the word compromise is bandied about in DC, it usually means the republicans have caved to the wishes of the democrats, and it's never the other way around.  This nation is lacking in true leaders who are willing to stand up for their convictions, and it's been that way for quite a while now.

Adding to what you expressed,   when there is a true leader who's willing to stand up for his/ her convictions,   they get attacked from most directions.  I saw this happen against Michele Bachmann and now it's happening to Ted Cruz.

I know about the actual .gov site for browsing what's been done in congress. I'm not interested in having to sift through it and interpret every bill listed.

 

If there just isn't a simple list of what the bills they've passed are, preferably organized by intention, (jobs bills, appropriation bills, tax reform bills, etc) then they really ought to just shut up along with their peanut gallery.

 

I could claim to have done 250 home improvement jobs this past month, but if every one of those is just me taking a beer out of the fridge (thus cleaning out the fridge) it's just intellectual dishonesty, kind of like the house claim of the democratic minority-majority of the senate being the problem.
