What Makes You Think Teddy Bridgewater Is The Answer?
|
Quote:Last night was not the only time he's made some bad throws...if you watched the games instead of the highlites of him you would already know this... he should have been intercepted a couple of times in other games... one for sure in the Kentucky game maybe two because a defender fell down going for the ball... Please.. I've watched more of Bridgewater than you can even imagine. I see a player who is in the heisman running with 18 TDs and 2 picks. I just look at the highlights...... Haha
Shock the world

Quote:Of course we will. They will just find another excuse. I am guessing his matchup in bowl will be against a team like Clemson or LSU. So we will hear something about how those teams didn't have anything to play for or "Aaron Murray lit them up too". Your right. Imagine if Teddy threw an interception last night to a defensive lineman like aaron murray did against LSU? All heck would break loose on this board!

Maybe he's not, but he sure is the best chance we've got. I really don't see bust at all with this guy. Not with his awareness, decision making, toughness and accuracy. Maybe he isn't the next great QB but he's at least gonna be a pretty good one I think
Quote:He's played unranked teams and looked good, pit him against some SEC schools and lets see how he does then. You mean like last year's bowl game against Florida? Quote:He's played unranked teams and looked good, pit him against some SEC schools and lets see how he does then. I saw some plusses and minuses, one thing and another poster mentioned this, was he floated some balls when he shouldn't have and threw some really bad passes as well. I just don't see him in the class as an RGIII or Luck.If you swapped Teddy with Aaron Murray, Georgia would be undefeated with all the talent Teddy would have. Then Louisville would have a couple of losses because of how little offensive talent Murray would have. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! I'm a Florida fan, so I can assure you no other QB was able to pick apart the Gators' secondary the way he did last year.
Will he be the savior? Or will he be Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch, Jamarcus Russel, Heath Shuler, David Carr, Vince Young, Joey Harrington, Jeff George, Byron Leftwich, Leinhart........
There is no sure thing. Maybe it would be better to trade the pick, stock up and take Mettenburger or Manziel a little later. This team has so many needs, the QB position is just the beginning. With the current line up, would Stafford, Rivers, Ryan lead us to the playoffs? Even Brady is struggling when his supporting cast is gone. Hopefully, there will be no pure rebuilding through the draft only, and that a concerted effort made to get a few proven FAs and build around whomever they draft. Plus the fact, theres the matter of Jags not getting the 1st pick. They can do something stupid like win a couple meaningless games.

No to Manziel thanks. I wouldn't take him in the 3rd, let alone the 1st or 2nd. And I'm sure some team will be duped into taking him in the 2nd. Maybe even the 1st.
Bridgewater may not be the perfect prospect, but there's no such thing as the perfect prospect. There's no such thing as a sure thing. But Bridgewater currently is the best prospect, and the best prospect gives us the best chances of success. Some people will argue Mariota. I don't think he will transition well into the NFL for the long-term. Ultimately it's up to Dave Caldwell. I'm sure he'll do his due diligence.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Exatly, I just want the Jaguars to pick the right guy, Bridgewater at this point definitely looks the "the guy". After watching a lot of Teddy Bridgewater this season (and some last season), my only concern today is the same concern as it was the very first time I watched him.....his size.
vagrant & others can talk about him being 220 or close to that, but even if true, he still looks very small out there. The eye test shows that. I wonder how he will hold up on a consistent basis vs the bigger, stronger players of the NFL. Other than that though, I have very few issues with the player.
I love that we have finally started arguing about this

I gotta admit, after watching him against Rutgers and earlier against Kentucky, I'm a lot less sold on Teddy then I was after the Florida game last year. I'm starting to get more intrigued with the other "playmaking" QBs that use their running capabilities as well.
I'm also anxious to see how their (Bridgewater, Marriota, Hundley, Price, Manziel) wonderlic scores turn out. |
