Allen Hurns

That's what's impressive about him.  He consistently gets open.  Nice combination of strength, route running, and savvy.  None of the undrafteds (or the retreads) we've ever dragged through here have ever impressed with this ability.  He's unlike them all.

Hurns, Lee, Robinson, Brown, Shorts, and Sanders. Those 6 will be the ones who make the team IMO.

Hurns is playing like a starter right now.

Add Kerry Taylor to that list at least until week 4,

Remember the days of Jason Hill and Mike Thomas as our starters? Now we have about 7 guys better than those two!

I'm curious after watching this game, If hurns is tearing it up as that big possession receiver, When robinson comes back, who effectively will fill that roll with supposedly more talent, how beast we'll be with two hurns like receivers.

Atm I think we'll have a deep receiving group, but henne doesn't take the shots to utilize them.  If they aren't open open (which doesn't happen in the NFL that often) he just doesn't throw the ball.

i said this in another thread

very impressive. i forget who i was arguing with about him, and i still believe if ace, shorts, and a rob werent unavailable, he wouldnt have made the roster. but we might have lost a hidden gem.

nothing specifically great about the guy but the overall package is making it work. consistently getting open and that guy plays hard.

hopefully without the off the field issues.

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

I'm getting that jersey.

Wow.  Going to be hard not to put him in 2 WR sets.

I'm sure we won't be overpaying Cecil Shorts III now. Hurns is the real deal. With the familiarity with Fisch's system, natural ability, and Sullivan as his WR Coach, he's not an opportunity to make noise this year

i was just about to say maybe what we are seeing is the sullivan effect.

Robinson and Hurns should be the outside starters, providing Robinson plays like I think he can once back from injury. Maybe run Lee from the slot.

Trade Shorts, and Brown/ Taylor and Doss are capable backups.
