Teddy Countdown

Well now we finally have an analyst that says Bridgewater is as good as Andrew Luck. I'll be interested to hear what Heero has to say about that.
LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.

Quote:As i've already stated, the AAC champ is an automatic BCS qualifier and if they get past Louisville, they would likely win the conference (an argument can also be made for UCF).
UCF is about to roll Rutgers.

I'm looking forward to watching Teddy against UCF's defense next week. Hope UCF will pull out the win, but will be fun.

Yeah. I think that will be the toughest game Louisville plays all year, outside of their bowl. UCF has a legit shot at knocking them off. I don't agree that they would roll Rutgers though. Conference matchups are usually toss-ups and the talent level is about even. Keep in mind Rutgers beat Arkansas.

UCF almost beat SC who is light years ahead of Arkansas. I think the talent pool UCF is pulling from is much deeper than what Rutgers is getting. I'm thinking UCF by 10 in that game.

Louisville will probably beat UCF but they have a good shot.

Following the same chain of logic, Arkansas almost beat A&M, so it's hard to discredit that. Either way I think both teams end the season with at least 8 wins and in decent bowl games. UCF certaintly doesn't look out of place playing against much more established programs. They have come a long way.

Edit: also, just thinking about the BCS implications, this is probably the biggest game in the programs history (a win likely puts them in the BCS). http://touch.orlandosentinel.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-77753193/

Jag's beat reporter for ESPN think's Jags may trade down instead of taking Bridgewater:

Quote:

Teddy Bridgewater seems to be the best quarterback available, but a lot can change between now and May. He'd be whom I would take, and the Jaguars might very well agree, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Jaguars traded down to get more picks because this team needs so much help elsewhere.

That quote looks to be entirely based on speculation, but as I've stated, it would be foolish to hang up the phone when you consider the kings ransom other teams have received in similar situations. Caldwell does seem like the type to like to acquire a lot of picks.

You started the logic by saying Rutgers beat Arkansas...just saying.

It's probably a top 5 game in the programs history because of that. I can think of a handful of games in UCF history that right now are pretty important. Seeing UCF in a BCS game and being able to get that pay day would be a big thing for the school.

Is he a Jags beat reporter or the AFC South beat reporter?

And saying "I wouldn't be surprised" isn't the same thing as saying you think it will happen.

I still think that's silly. Luck had way more college snaps under his belt so he was still more polished.

That doesn't even sound like it's what they think the Jags will do. Doesn't even sound like speculation that we'd trade down -- just that the possibility is there.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

I'd personally like to see him take his favorite QB in the first and trade back into the third with his extra mid/late picks.

- but if he does get a king's ransom and still thinks there's a franchise QB to be had in the 2nd round.... well it would be tough to argue with all those picks in year 2 of a rebuild.

LOL. Of course it's speculation. what else is there at this point?

Jags - They split the divisions to 4 beat reporters recently. It's DiRocco.

Hence my wording "beat reporter for ESPN think's Jags may trade down"

I thought it was relevant to the thread.... whatever.

Yeah it's relevant to the thread, but you know some people are going to read that as "Caldwell has no interest in Bridgewater after last night's game"

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Hey man, no hate to UCF. I will be rooting for you guys and I'm 50/50 on who I'm going to take in my pick em' for next week. Louisville will struggle without Parker and De La Cruz. I'm honestly probably leaning more you guys way.

He easily could have said he had a Jags "source" who says they would be leaning towards trading down.

Yeah - I forget how passionate folks are over the "Teddy" factor. (I for one am rather content to let it play out since there's a good chance the Jags end up with a better QB one way or the other. )

Don't you think that would be utterly ridiculous with the number of games still to be played in both the NFL and NCAA seasons? If a "source" leaked that - would you actually believe it? I wouldn't.

"Getting a good QB" and getting a Great QB who can be the poster boy of the Jacksonville Jaguars and the face of the franchise, is a huge difference. Teddy just has the IT factor.

Him and Jaxson DeVille will light the city on fire.

Other than the two overthrows on deep balls he played a great game.
