Just start Bortles already

Quote:Everyone does.....some are just mature enough to understand that they might have to wait a few games for that.

What in the heck does maturity have to do with forming an opinion and standing behind it? You have used "perpetuate child", "3rd grader" to describe people who don't agree with your horrible opinions. Does this name calling somehow build you up?

Needless to say, some choose to worry and fret even over the best problems to have.

So much for perspective.

So you have to be on crack to assert that people's betting affiliations affect their expressed opinions????

New to earth??

Because coach Bradley, GM Caldwell amongst others have CONSISTENTLY started their reasoning for why they are doing what they are doing here regarding Bortles timetable to start, and you simply refuse to accept it. Thats being a petulant child.

But yet you want him to start week 3?  Haven't they said he will sit all year?

Expect him to pass right over this one and ignore it. This is his typical M.O when he paints himself in a corner.

Exactly.  If they're going to play him that early what sense does it make to not have him start the first game?

What does Bradley know? He was like 5th behind Andy Reid on your coach rankings. Caldwell was a terrible choice because we should have got whats his face from the 49ers. We should have had Teddy instead of Blake after a successful year of tanking and being a laughing stock at 0-16 and morale at an all time low.

If this was a video game, you'd have a point.

In the real world there are things a rookie really needs to have down before being thrown into the fire.

But clearly by your condescending attitude you know more than the head coach in this topic.

I will defer to your expertise.

Quote:The start Bortles NOW crowd makes me laugh.

You can tell that they really believe this is a playoff team (if Bortles starts all 16) and that we are somehow throwing that away by delaying Bortles insertion into the lineup. It is to laugh. They simply are out of touch with reality.

You're really such an arrogant bonehead.

Maybe 'the start Bortles crowd' thinks he's ready to play.

It's funny you talking about anyone being out of touch with reality.

So, we must defer to the head coach.

Del Rio was the head coach.

Mularkey was the head coach.

We should always agree with the head coach right?  You always agreed with them right?  And we know they were always right...because..you know...they were head coaches and all.

I'm so sorry.  I'll defer to your idealistic attitude that somehow things will magically 'gel' by the third game.

I didn't want "whats his face from the Niners" (Gamble) for GM. Not sure where you're pulling that from, your [BAD WORD REMOVED] maybe??

I was actually okay with the Caldwell selection, epsecially the methodical way they went about hiring him, despite my preference being Ross from the Giants. The Jags did their due diligence and interviewed many candidates and several candidates twice.

I admit Bradley was only my 6th choice, I was very skeptical about his hire, especially since it was done with only one interview and I wanted others to also be interviewed first before any coaching decision was made.

All that said, Bradley is the coach now and has repeatedly been up front with what his plan is for Bortles and he's sticking to that plan. The people that keep ignoring that are merely being irrational crybabies.

I don't think those of us who are seeing a ready (enough) product to start game 1 are nearsighted. We're just believing in what we're seeing/feeling about Bortles'. It seems no one can argue against Bortles offering us the best chance to win right now--if that is the case, how could winning/gaining vital game experience negatively impact his 'growth'? He's already playing as good as any star rookie QB to come out.

No one is safe.

When the head coach has given you no other reason NOT to trust his decisions, yes. Bradley by this point should be earning your trust.

Del Rio and Mularkey had given you MANY reasons to not trust their judgment. So, dumb comparison.

I didn't say anything about the third game. Don't put words in my mouth.

As for our coaches, until they give me a reason to doubt then, I'll dude with then.

Your frustrations and reactions in this thread are a bit over the top. Careful before you give yourself an aneurysm.

I'm sorry you were going crazy over hiring Caldwell, You wanted either Gamble or the NY Giants guy (also can't remember name) I know this because you did your usual thread spamming so It's pretty easy to remember.

You liked Bradley until the jags went for him (prob shouldn't have flip flopped on him).

You were bashing Caldwell for hiring his mate Roman. Then he didn't interview him and you went crazy about that and started wanting Roman. It was one of your bigger more memorable melt down offseasons.

I actually never - not once said "I want" Bortles to start week 3.

I said thats what I think will ultimately happen.

Ross of the Giants, go back up and re-read. ^^^^

I never ever wanted Gamble. As a matter of fact I was adamant AGAINST him.

By the end of the process I was okay with the Caldwell hire. I still had some degree of skepticism, won't deny that. But I didn't hate the hire by that point as you are implying. Caldwell had a good pedigree from 2 great organizations (Colts/ Falcons)
