Just start Bortles already

I never ever wanted Gamble. As a matter of fact I was adamant AGAINST him.

Ahh you were pro him before Kahn brought him in for an interview...It's hard to keep up. You certainly never wanted Caldwell though

YOu claimed I wanted Gamble from the Niners for GM. Your memory sucks as I never wanted Gamble and openly campaigned AGAINST Gamble despite the talking heads on ESPN talking up Gamble.

Marc Ross was always my top choice for GM. I wanted the Arizona dude (Jason Licht) as a fall back. Regarding Caldwell, I didn't hate him/ but didn't love him at first either. As said, I was skeptical. However, Caldwell had the good resume and Khan had a lengthy hiring process. I didn't "hate" that hire at all by the time it was all over.

As for our coaches, until they give me a reason to doubt then, I'll dude with then.

Your frustrations and reactions in this thread are a bit over the top. Careful before you give yourself an aneurysm.
Over the top? Lord. You need a dose of reality.

Ha my memory doesn't suck. At some point you wanted Gamble. Maybe i missed the post you changed your mind (if you did at all)

Plus having opinions on front office guys when you have no dealings with them is ridiculous anyway.

I don't think the Colts are winning 10 games anymore.  Yeah, they have the easiest schedule in the NFL, but they also have one of the thinnest and oldest rosters.  I could see them winning 7-13, but most likely 9.

Ok, chief...

I'm not the one having a tantrum... but carry on.

Chad is starting week one. It's a shame that you can't handle that reality.

Nope. Your memory does suck. I never ever wanted Gamble here. Ever. There was no changing of the mind on that one ever.

You're just simply dead wrong.

Unless Luck gets hurt and misses time, the Colts will win 10, minimum this season.

I was actually okay with the Caldwell selection, epsecially the methodical way they went about hiring him, despite my preference being Ross from the Giants. The Jags did their due diligence and interviewed many candidates and several candidates twice.

I admit Bradley was only my 6th choice, I was very skeptical about his hire, especially since it was done with only one interview and I wanted others to also be interviewed first before any coaching decision was made.

All that said, Bradley is the coach now and has repeatedly been up front with what his plan is for Bortles and he's sticking to that plan. The people that keep ignoring that are merely being irrational crybabies.

Actually I'm 90% sure you were against the Caldwell hire and you whined and cried that it guaranteed another year of Mullarkey.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Quote:When the head coach has given you no other reason NOT to trust his decisions, yes. Bradley by this point should be earning your trust.

Del Rio and Mularkey had given you MANY reasons to not trust their judgment. So, dumb comparison.
With respect to bradley, a 4 win season (2 coming against houston) doesn't make you infallible. At this point, Del Rio has had far more coaching success than Bradley. He doesn't deserve blind faith. He isn't an offensive guru. I think fisch will have more say than we think.

That part is true. I was fearful that Caldwell being hired meant another year of that bum, Mularkey.

Fisch absolutely has a lot of say in the manner, as does Scelfo.

No one is claiming that Bradley is making the decision unilaterally.

Seems like your the one with the tantrum there, buddy.

Maybe it's just me, but reading the back and forth, you seem to be more upset than him.

That may be the reality. It would then become reality that the lesser QB(Henne) is playing over the more superior one(Bortles).

No one is safe.

You hated these hires. Why would you want them involved?

I always support the jaguars no matter how bad of a team they put on the field. im there cheering for them because they are our best players.  but it certainly rubs me the wrong way, as a paying customer for them to purposely not play the best players for no tangible reason. other then seemingly the desire not to admit they made a mistake by thinking they needed to redshirt bortles.

maybe that is why we never make decent adjustments at halftime.  the original plans are infallible.

LOL, really?  Pointing out the reality is me having a tantrum?  I'm actually quite calm and not freaking out about Henne being named the starter...  But whatever...  :-)

WHat I think of those hires is irrelevant. They are the coaches and they ALL will be part of the decision.

LOL @ you throwing a ton of red herrings around.

As I've mentioned earlier in the thread, BB5 looks great for a rookie.  You may be right in certain respects regarding the comparison between Henne and BB5, but the coaches have a benchmark for Bortles before he gets the helm.  I have no doubts about that benchmark and that Bortles hasn't reached it yet.

He'll be there soon enough.  I just don't understand the incessant need to rush him into the starting lineup before they feel he's absolutely ready.

He'll start this year, probably sooner than we all think.  My original assumption was November, but it may be sooner than that.

Agreed with the whole post.

I think Blake will start by week 5 at the latest, prob week 3.
