Jags Cut Eleven Players
|
I remember making a comment about being surprised that Harris was in at the end of the last game. I guess this helps explain it. Coaches weren't impressed with him, or as impressed with him as they were with others on the team.

They like the other Harris better. Which is natural, they drafted him because he fits their style and what they are looking for.
Young might be a practice squad candidate. Deadline is Tuesday I believe for all NFL teams. As for the other 4 cuts, might be as simple as needing a little longer to talk things through and come to a decision.
Quote:maybe he won't but if he did I trust Caldwell to find a good replacement. I expected Anger to be a pro bowler from day one. That's Gene Smith's problem, not Bryan Anger's. He's a good punter, he certainly isn't the second coming of Ray Guy but he's not bad. Gene Smith overdrafted him.
I'm sure one issue is waiting on the extra kicker with Scobee's injury. That guy would usually be gone in this round, but they may need him for Thursday.

Quote:I wonder if the delay in naming the others means that guys are being dangled for late draft choices? If they're getting cut in the first wave of cuts, they are not guys who are going to command any sort of trade value. They're guys who are going to be delivering your UPS next week. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Mike Harris is the only guy of note in the initial wave, and that's really not saying much.

Kinda surprised Harris got cut on the first wave but we knew it was coming.

Colvin to IR.
Quote:The Jacksonville Jaguars moved rookie defensive back Aaron Colvin Quote:Colvin to IR. In the article on the homepage, it seems as if Colvin is on that IR-designated to return listing. I wonder if he'll see the field this season.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Quote:In the article on the homepage, it seems as if Colvin is on that IR-designated to return listing. I wonder if he'll see the field this season. Yes, it does sound that way. Quote: Sounds like he'd be potentially available after the bye or perhaps just before if one of the other DBs is struggling or injured. Is there a limit to the number of (IR'ed) players that can have this designation? Quote:Yes, it does sound that way. I dont think he was placed with an IR designation. It sounds more like he's on the NFI/PUP list.

I think they were waiting on Preseason to play itself out to see if there would be another candidate for the spot, at least it seems that way to me.
