I don't know much about BCB but I do remember Alfie and he could be a jackwagon from time to time.

Quote:I didn't have much for issues with Alfie when he was on the board more regularly.

However, once I got Twitter, you can see he's a whole different animal.  I don't like to judge but he's really an annoying [BAD WORD REMOVED] when it comes to any person that says something negative to him or heaven forbid disagrees with him.

I've been attacked by that crew before for the smallest stuff. Like disagreeing with him about Andre Branch.

I followed him until he tried handing out parenting advice.  LOL...

I think that was the end of my following Alfie as well, about a year ago he started trying to give life advice Laughing

I wasn't around here when Alfie was ever-present, so I have no real guff with the guy.  I only find about 1 in 15 of the pieces of content on his site worthy of note - but I do appreciate being able to occasionally find info there slightly sooner albeit usually regurgitated tweets.

That said  -- I never really associated him with the BCB and don't care either way. He's entitled to treat his blog site as he sees fit whether I agree or not.

I popped in to the club's after-draft party this year in NYC and met some nice folks and enjoyed a free drink on the Jaguars dime and subsequently joined BCB out of respect for the effort they showed in traveling here - waiting in line for hours on end - and making our presence as a fanbase felt at the draft. There is a small NYC chapter now, and I'll meet them on a few Sundays to watch the game.

This is what I like about BCB and like I said earlier what the original intent was.  I don't dislike any of the people really, its just a culture I'm not into.

I actually don't mind Alfie nearl yas much as some people here.  I know he has a passion for the Jags and he may not always come across in the right tone, but I think the intent is there.

I think out of market fans would get more out of the membership. They wouldn't have to deal with the drama like the locals would. I don't do drama anymore so I wouldn't fit in. But whatever helps the Jags and spreads the word, as long as it's not negative and disparaging.....

I think the group does some good work. The trip to NYC looked awesome. They definitely have a lot of passion for the team and for them, it is a huge part of their life. Like more than I could ever imagine. Good for them I guess.

BCB is branded groupthink.

They also bought $20k worth of tickets to see the Jags/Redskins.  I think most of what they do is good.

Oh, I've been attacked by them as well, and they're a brutal, but anonymous bunch.  I'm a member of the BCB because I'll support anything that truly supports the team, but the Alfie fan boys are a brutal bunch of techno thugs who are tough as nails, like their leader, Alfie.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Agreed.  But, it's branded group think that gets a lot of attention from the team, so it has benefits.
