It's okay. You can't be expected to be the resident Know-It-All on College sports and MLB.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Quote:Compete for a playoff spot? Compete for a World Series championship? Remains to be seen. Well, if a team can reach the playoffs then it is pretty much a crapshoot from there.
Papi with a huge grand slam.
LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.
Quote:Papi with a huge grand slam. I have no dog in the ALCS hunt, so I could appreciate that moment without regret.

Quote:I"m a life long Cardinal fan ever since my father would take me to the Cardinal games when we would visit his parents in St. Louis back in the 60's. Every year, lately that is, I'm wondering at the beginning of the season how they are going to make it after losing key players in the offseason but they have a knack for growing talent in their farm system.Their defense looked very sloppy last night. They were late picking up fly balls, and problems fielding balls hit off walls in the outfield.
Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.
Red Sox now lead the series 2-1. It's going to be an even tougher game 4, for the Red Sox in Detroit.

The Tigers bats are disgusting. Scherzer and Verlander pitch absolute gems, but can't get wins.
The Sox face tough pitching matchups the next two games. My money is on Detroit.

It is pretty amazing how they keep winning. Best organization in sports.
Is it weird that I will root for the Tigers because half their team consists of former Marlins? Nah, that's not weird. Just sad.

Now that Tampa is out of the running I've kind of lost interest in the playoffs. I've never liked Detroit and I have a grudging respect for the Sox. On the NL side I like watching the Dodgers because they used to have a lot of former Suns players on their roster when we were their AA farm team. I've never watched a game in L.A. but I would love to visit their stadium. It just looks really nice on TV. (sigh) But they go home now.

Quote:We sure robbed you with that Miguel Cabrera trade. Understatement of the year. I think in the end, that must go down as one of the top 3 if not the most lopsided trades in history.

The Marlins can't afford to keep their talent. Dan Uggla was another good talent dealt away. MLB teams in Florida don't have pockets deep enough to pay big contracts because of dismal attendance. The Marlins have that spiffy new stadium that they can't fill. Tampa flirted with the idea of a new stadium for a while but in the end decided it wasn't financially possible given their poor ticket sales. Thankfully they have a solid farm system and Joe Maddon to keep them viable but they have the same problems with holding onto pricier talent. Although they signed Evan Longoria to a 10 year $136M contract. They need him.
Back to the old Marlins; I miss Dontrelle Willis. It's a shame the D-Train couldn't maintain. |
