There's actually a lot of people that for some reason find it normal to stand the entire game. I'm a male at 5'8'', and there have been times where I legit have to stand on my chair to see above the people standing in front of me nonstop for absolutely no reason. I feel bad for the people behind me when I do this, but it's just ridiculous. When they're drunk, it makes saying anything to them even worse.

We only stand on 3rd downs. And of course on game altering plays.

Other than that I am a complete gentleman amd show respect to everyone.

There wont be whole lot of reasons for fans to stand after seeing what kind of team the Jaguars game against the Redskins.

The same can be said for sitting down. Does it get you into the game more by sitting? It's a personal preference.

Sitting down the whole game doesn't interfere with anyone else though, does it?

I get it, just playing devil's advocate. I can see both sides. I use to stand for the vast majority of games. I prefer the whole "flow of the game" thing now when it comes to standing.

But in this case "devils advocate" isn't being concerned with those around them that want to enjoy the game as well.

This isn't college football and nobody is sitting in a student section.  It doesn't make you cooler or more of a fan to stand up and be a jerk to the people behind you that just want to enjoy the game.

To the people that stand on 3rd down and such...I don't think anyone has a problem with that.  It's those that stand for quarters at a time that know they are being a distraction for others, and dont care.

I find that most people that stand up most of the time have more of a "look at me while I watch my team play" mindset, while the fans that sit and stand with the flow of the game have the "I'm here to watch my team play" mindset...

But, also, some of the people who stand all the time are really just selfish jerks.

Well. We have family sections. Honor Row sections. Handicapped sections. Pool and Cabana sections. Maybe a sit only section...put up a sign like at the fair, only say must be this short to sit here. Call it the Cecil Shorts section. Get free Hammy samiches.

Same goes for concerts. No standing, everyone can enjoy the music sitting down. Must make everyone happy. Cannot discriminate.

Actually standing releases nervous energy. You also cant yell as loud when sitting. Players also know when the fans are standing screaming for them. .

Its a football game. There will be standing. Rather sit? Theres the opera. Club seats. The bigger than life screens. The couch. Or a rule stating standing only during pivotal points in the game.

I thought it was common sense not to stand the whole time or they wouldn't have seats.  Stand for big plays/critical moments.  If you want to stand go to one of the decks or the Bud Zone.

With that rationale then you would have to sit the entire game.

I confess. Dont even know why I replied. Whining about people standing at a football game. I'm short. I'm tired. I can yell as well sitting. Welcome back to the Jag MB.

But to those who stand and are the only ones, for most of the game. It gets annoying. I havent had a problem in 20 years. Ask them to take a break once in a while. If they say screw off, I wait until after the game to discuss it.

As far as the majority standing, thats football.

I tend to only stand during big plays/3rd downs. I can see why people standing for full quarters can be a problem though.

We don't sit the entire game. We stand when there's a reason to stand. We stand and yell when it's 3rd and short and we need a stop. We stand and wait when it's 3rd and short and we want that 1st down. We stand up when someone's off to the races towards the goal line. Just because we don't stand up as often or as long as some of the idiots doesn't mean we shouldn't watch the game at Everbank...

People aren't coming up with reasons not to stand, people just dont want to stand for 3 hours when the team isnt giving much to stand for.  Stand to yell for the defense at important parts or when needed, fine....people can deal with that.  Standing during every single play is overdone and from what I've seen at games, gives people the idea that they are somehow super fans.
