But Poz is his favorite player in the whole wide world, he can do no wrong.

Quote:Because the other option was to cut him in the offseason, which would have left us with a gaping hole in the middle of our defense.  Plus he was like the second leading tackler in the league... I have no problem with him staying here.  Could they have signed somebody else?  Sure, but that wouldn't have been as cheap as you think if this supposed FA was going to be an improvement.

A gaping hole? Isn't that what we already saw two days ago against the colts?

Seriously, the point is he's not an exceptional player. It's not like there would be no one on the field playing the MLB position, it just wouldn't be someone getting paid as if they were an elite player at their position.

Quote:Jerry Sullivan (Buffalo Columnist)

"Poslusnzy is an average linebacker on his best day who couldn't cover a crock pot"

It's all a conspiracy however to trash Poz's name (Badger)

It's like that one time a Bills fan came over here to tell us how bad he is, but on gameday he was providing an obvious benefit to our team.

There are gaping holes either side of him if you haven't noticed.  That doesn't help him do his job like I know he can.

if your goal is to convince me that he is a bad player, it's a lost cause.  The guy has shown me he can play.  He is pretty important to the run defense.  If you depend on your MLB to make a big difference in the passing game, then we got other issues... which we do.  Our DBs are lost in coverage.

So there aren't gaping holes?  Telvin Smith and Laroy Reynolds have been stellar in your opinion?

I'll answer that for you, they have been awful in coverage and in the running game.  At least Poz has been good in the running game.  That's 1/2 better than anybody else can say.

Remember the play at PHI where he got hurt after MAKING A TACKLE?  The next play was a 40 yd run up the middle.  Coincidence?

We have issues all across the board, Poz is just one of many.

I wouldn't say he's a BAD player. I'd say he's a typical Gene Smith signing. Middle of the road talent, has an obviously weak area in his game, but was paid as if he were an elite, or close to elite, at his position.

The "meet the RB in the hole and stop him dead in the power running game" MLB is a dead position. The NFL is different now than it was 15 years ago. Now you need LBs that can cover, and POZ (edit: apparently Poz spelled with an S instead of a Z gets filtered...) just can't do it at a level beyond marginal.

Telvin Smith couldnt even tackle McCoy, but slow Poz could.

They haven't played well either, but the Jags aren't paying those guys $43M.

He has shown you he can play? He hasn't shown the entire fan-base? We're not jag haters or poz haters, but Poz is getting older and hasn't been his old self these past few games. The defense was worse last year, and he was way better. I think he'll pick it up and be back to 100% after his knee and ankle are at full strength though.

It's not personal with Poz badger, we just recognize he's not that good and is one of the more overpaid players in football, along with Marcedes Lewis,

that was like years ago.. he didn't just get 43$ in his mailbox the other day.  calm down.  it's not your money and we aren't going to be hurting for cap at any time during his contract.

The only way a defense is historically bad at covering the TE as the Jaguars is if you have incompetent LB's in coverage, at Mike , Will, and Sam. It's collective effort that attributes to our coverage issues.

The safeties have given up two TDs to tight ends this year already.  It's not all on the LBs.
