And since when is standing during a game selfish? The person trying to make others conform to how he or she wants them to view the game would be the selfish. How do you know that someone isn't standing because it is more comfortable? You don't. That is all I am trying to say. When situations such as these are breached, then when and where does the authoritative peremptory end?

 

Yet that is exactly what those who choose to stand the entire game do. See how that works? It goes both ways. The difference in all of this is that the overwhelming majority of fans who attend these games choose to SIT for most of it. What you're not getting is what you are saying is the rights of the few should outweigh the rights of the many. That's why everything is going to hell these days. Every small group out there thinks their rights should be validated, even when it means infringing on the rights of the majority.

The whole topic is about people standing the WHOLE game. Not during critical points ( or warranted, as you put it) in the game. You make it sound like it's all or nothing.

If you read what I replied to and not just reading snippets of the conversation then you would know that I NEVER brought up what is or isn't warranted. You will clearly see that I was replying to someone else using the word and defining situations that she felt were and were not "warranted." Just go back and re-read more closely please. To address talking in the movie theatre, I will again direct you to the point I already brought up consisting of said situation. I'll address it further in order to answer your question though. It is common knowledge that talking isn't an activity condoned at the movies, which is WHY I used just that particular place in juxtaposition to a football game, that you unfortunately overlooked or just flat out ignored.

Standing up the whole game, for whatever reason, is making the people behind you conform to your wishes, not their own. How do you know that the person sitting behind you isn't sitting because it's more comfortable for them? You don't...

Pretty sure doing something without regards to others is the definition of selfish.

That's exactly why I would NEVER tell or ask someone to stand up or watch the game in downward doggy or any other such way.

You choose to sit, someone else stands. My condoning people's right to choose how to watch a football game does not in any sensible way equate to either selfishness nor trying to get others to conform. I'm saying the opposite. I am done with this topic now. Only you and two of your friends are arguing about this and refuse to see the logic and rationale in anything I am saying. I also didn't come here for immature name calling simply for being on board for the right to choose how to watch a football game.This is the post that broke the camel's back, as I cannot debate an issue with someone who doesn't understand how my point is COMPLETELY OPPOSITE to conforming.
