Yeah, it definitely wasn't a money grab at all.

I saw this earlier. It makes sense. But you say it like it was known all along that this was the case.

That's just Winstons lawyer telling that to TMZ....I'm going to wait for a little more proof rather than just taking his work for it.

Is this some kind of attempt for Winston to repair his image?

Lol, PFT said its relatively common for someone claiming assault to approach it in this way.  I'm not saying he did or didn't do it, but I don't think this shows he isn't guilty.  Lets all remember that not one, but two girls have said something of that nature out of the nrom happened.  With all the stupid things he has done since then, lets not all act like he's very bright.

You do realize this is all just coming from his lawyer, right? So far there is no proof of anything yet other than him saying it?

Answer me this. If all this really happened, and her lawyer really did say they would make it all go away if they got money, why are they only coming out with this "information" now? Obviously they knew this had happened last year, right? Because four days after the supposed extortion attempt the rape accusation hit TMZ...why wait almost a year to come out with this now? Wouldn't this have saved Winston a year of being thought of as a rapist?

In the lawyers letter to FSU it says something about the victim saying she'd never sleep with a black guy or something like that.

FSU homers are funny.

He had to do it!  FSU is covering up!  Crimenoles!  Crimenoles!

Now a little more of the real story is coming out.  The haters will spin it against FSU/Winston though.

It's been a long time since I took procedure courses but frequently settlement offers cannot be disclosed.  Maybe the time period has expired and he is now able to release the information.

Except this is being called "extortion" not a settlement offer...

According to the letter -- obtained by TMZ Sports -- the alleged victim's lawyer, Patricia Carroll, demanded $7 MIL to settle her client's claims against FSU and Winston, telling Cornwell, "If we settle, you will never hear from my client or me again -- in the press or anywhere."

I know what it says...but they are the ones calling it extortion. Isn't extortion illegal?

Not when it's done by lawyers.
