According to Mark Long just now on Dempsey's show, the buzz inside the stadium right now is that Blackmon has finally started to work on getting the right kind of help to get him back on the field. He didn't indicate when Blackmon would be applying for reinstatement, but it sounds like he will when he's allowed to do so.


Those who keep saying people should stop bringing it up because he's as good as gone aren't listening to what the team is saying. When he's available, they fully intend to give him another shot.

If nothing else, from a talent standpoint alone they should do everything they can within reason to help him earn his way to another shot. If he shows any commitment at all to getting better, so much the better. His substance issues aside, he is to the WR corps what Bortles is to QBs.

It's still against league rules for those teams. Drinking is legal in all 50 states. Yet that's part of the program too.

 

State law and League rules are not synonymous.

A good analogy might be gambling.  It doesn't have to be against the law to be against league rules.

The reason I ask was this:


In his limited play, he has played well to say the least. Every one says how great he is and will be for the team. I'm not going to argue that he wouldn't benefit the team by any means. But some are talking like he is the next jerry rice. My question is with his total of 1 years worth of play how are people talking like that? How do they know he would be that much of an impact if he can be reinstated next year?
