Wild week really upset the apple cart!

Here are my four as things sit now.

1. Auburn

2. FSU

3. Miss. St.

4. TCU

Auburn

FSU

Baylor

Mich st

Both of the mississippi teams are better than the final two on my list. But I hope the system doesn't become an SEC (or any conference) playoff.

FSU will play Notre Dame for a spot

Auburn will play Ole Miss and Miss St.

Baylor will play TCU

The final spot will be less cut and dry it could easily go to the PAC 12 champ, maybe Arizona can run the table.

Continuing my format from previous weeks, first are my predictions:

Auburn

FSU

Oregon

Notre Dame

The Big 12 champ will almost certainly have one loss and will suffer from a generally weak OOC schedule by the entire conference. The Big 10 champ will have a similar problem except they'll have bad OOC losses by most of the conference. Then I think you have a Notre Dame team with 1-loss to FSU and champs of the two strongest conferences, the PAC 12 and the SEC.

And here are the four that have most earned a spot so far:

Mississippi State

FSU

Auburn

Ole Miss

Pretty self-explanatory, but Ole Miss just edges out TCU and Notre Dame by crushing all the minnows they've played and having the best quality win of the year so far.

don't FSU and Notre Dame play?  whoever loses that game I doubt makes the final four

Might be right, but considering that the Big 10 and Big 12 have such weak reps overall and that their top teams already have losses, IF Notre Dame and FSU win out except for the game between them, it would be hard to take their champ over the 1-loss team in the top 5 that only lost to another top 5 team.

Am I supposed to pick who I think the 4 best teams are?  What if I think a bunch of one loss teams are better than some of the current undefeateds?

The four who you think will be the ones in the playoffs when all is said and done.

The question was is the playoff started today. However, a one loss Notre Dame team could easily get into the playoff at the end of the year.

You're right. Probably change the wording next week to who people think will be in the final four based on what happened in the previous weekend. If the playoffs started today is pretty cut and dry as to who'd be in and who wouldn't be.

I'm ruling out the fact that 2 teams from the SEC West will go.  I just don't see a team making it that doesn't even play in the SEC Conference Championship Game. I'm also eliminating the loser of FSU vs Notre Dame.

FSU

AUBURN

MICHIGAN STATE

Big 12 Champ (I'll guess Kansas State)

The non-conference winning Alabama in the top 2 was greatly helped by computer rankings. I doubt we'll see a repeat of that given the committee's stated criteria.
