Bortles is a problem

Now I remember why I stopped posting on here a few years ago, because this place is full of crazy people.

Quote:LOL Says the guy comparing him to Blaine Gabbert.  And you fail to mention that Gabbert in his rookie year reached 60% completion percentage only once, while Blake has yet to fail to reach 60 in a game he's started.

Also let's not forget that Blake set the record for completion % for a rookie in their debut with 30+ attempts.
Ok wize guy all I said was Blaine Gabbert didn't throw 6 int in 2 games his rookie year, I think that's a fair comparison than comparing BB5 to a HOF player.

Why do you say that? Because people think that 2 games is *plenty* of time to know if a player is a bust? Isn't that the normal audition time for rookies?
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

Yeah because people think 2 games of a rookie predicts the entire career of a player. It's just ridiculous. People started threads about Lee being a bust during the PRESEASON. Let the guys play more before deeming them a bust.

Hyperbole can go both ways there guy.  He's started 2 games.  Chill out.

And what did you expect to find on a message board full of fans of a constantly losing football team? It's not exactly like going to www.praywithtebow.com..

Well, maybe it is kinda similar in some ways...

The board has basically become like the TU or news channels comments sections. I would hope the mods would not allow it to regress much further.

Whatever you say tack fan.  It's a stupid comparison to make, and revokes any right for you to complain about comparisons others make.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

That's because Gabbert didn't throw it further than 6 feet

Crazy isn't it? When some people were claiming Bortles would magically fix all the broken parts of this team, I predicted all it would take would be a few INTs to see some of those same people calling him a bust. Probably it's mostly the same group who have such a hard time understanding why it takes more than a year to break down and rebuild a team from scratch.

They have the right to their opnions I suppose, but don't try to reason with them. There's no point.

Which is more crazy?

The people who are tired of the crap product on the field and voice their opinion

or

The people who constantly eat the crap and are fine with it?

What about the ones that constantly subject themselves to activities that make them miserable and babble incessantly on message boards? They the craziest.

Above is a microcosm of the thought process of some on the board. It has to be one or the other, there is no in between. Dammit!

Not sure who is eating crap and fine with it.

There is a difference in being understanding of the Jaguars situation and being complacent about it.

All fans hate losing. All fans want to win.

But only some fans realize all those years of rebuilding were blown up and started over with a completely new regime. 2 off seasons ago.

What is more crazy is having knee jerk reactions about a rookie QB making his second start comparing him to anyone is silly at this point. Big Ben or Gabs.

And more knee jerk reactions about the coaching staff and the GM.

After very little time this board is up and arms like a completely broke down roster is supposed to win games.

Have you guys seen the Jets this season?

Have you looked at what Oakland is doing?

These teams have veterans at every position and look way worse than us. We're playing some stiff competition and there is going to be a lot of growing pains. Including but not limited to, drops, missed assignments, ints, and fumbles.

Bortles, Robinson, Lee, Harbor, Robinson and Storm, Cyp, McCray, Linder, Bowanko.... young players we're building a team with. At the end of the season we won't be in the playoffs but we'll be one step closer to this regime figuring out what guys and working and what aint. Cut loose free agents in favorable contracts that don't pan out. Sign some more guys.

In 25 years the Jags have had multiple playoff runs, including a run to the AFC championship. We've had like 4 head coaches and a dozen starting QBs.

In that same time, fans of numerous other teams have had way worse runs and stretches.

Get over it.

Quote:Can we stop with the Peyton Manning rookie year comparisons? People fail to mention that in Peyton Manning  rookie year also had games where he completed 60% of his passes threw for 300 yards and 3 TD 0 Int. Thats what I need to see from Blake,

I can live with the bad games if he has great ones too.

Good Post. Can we actually see a game that is comparable. Bortles has been compared to some of the greatest QB's of all time. It reminds me of when a certain Writer on this website compared Mike Sims Walker to freaking Jerry Rice.  :woot:

So why should I trust some fans like you.  Many fans like you were telling me to "be patient" "gene the genius"  "i'm a crybaby who dosen't know what they are talking about" etc. when the last regime was going through the process.

Why should I have blind faith that this will be any different from the mean gene era?
